50 years

Have you ever really thought about how long 50 years is? My parents are celebrating their 50th anniversary next week.  That is such an amazing accomplishment.   I feel so blessed to have them as my parents and to have the example that they have set for us.  I wanted to make a special card for them, and this is it. I think my mom will really appreciate it, but not sure about dad!! LOL.  He will appreciate it, but mom will get it, you know what I mean!!!! I used the sketch over at Just Magnolia for their Week 79 Challenge.  I love this bridal magnolia stamp.  The heart is also a Magnolia stamp.
The roses are actually from 3 different sources. The largest flower is Prima, the next size is from Recollections, and the tiny ones are from Magnolia. The Bling is from Recollections as well. The 50 in the swirly tag is from CTMH.  Here is a closeup of the bling!

Just Pink Magnolia

We all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. It is a good month to be reminded, my friend Kim was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 2 years ago in October. So when we think about this month we also celebrate that Kim's breast cancer was caught early with breast self exams, mammograms, and on to a biopsy.
I had to join this months challenge to celebrate Kim. This card will go to her.  The charm on the ribbon says "Inspire", Kim inspires me. I don't think it needs any more of a sentiment on it than that!!!!  I was excited to see that http://justmagnolia.blogspot.com/ was having a Pink card challenge. This card is for the week 78 challenge here.  On to the card!!!
I really wanted
to showcase the papers that I got from Making Memories Think Pink, so I didn't go overboard on the layering.  The scallop punch is from EK Success and the branch one from Martha Stewart.

I cannot remember
where I got the little inspire charm. It has been in my stash waiting for the perfect card!!! The flowers are from Recollections at Michaels. They are the best bargain I have found for Mulberry flowers, and believe me, I have bought many!!!  I inked the scalloped oval nestie shapes with CTMH carnation pink ink.

The inside needed
to be left fairly simple as I will take this card to work and have my staff sign it along with me to give to my friend Kim. We all went through the surgery, and radiation with her and all celebrate her remission!!

The Copics:
Skin: E-000, E-00, E-93, E-11
Hair: E-33, E-34, Y-21
Clothes: RV-000, RV-02, RV-04, RV-09, E-51, E-53

Fill your cup ~ Brenda

I am so excited to show you my card today. More excited about this one than any!!  LOL.  As I shared in another post, one day on my way to work, I was listening to our local Christian radio station and the host was talking about seeing something that gave her a pondering moment!  I was half listening and didn't here if it was a card or a sign or what.  The words were, "Fill your cup and nourish others with your overflow".  I dug in my purse, grabbed a business card and wrote it down right away, because it immediately made me think of putting it on a card. ( I should really send her my card!!)
So the other day I asked my friend Guylou if she could make me an image.  The thought made me think of someone sitting over her morning devotion drinking a cup of coffee.  Don't you know that she sent me the image the very next day and named it Brenda!!  You can not even imagine how excited I was.  I have very few programs I watch on TV, but House is one of my faves. I was sitting at the computer when it was coming on and I got this image in my email. Well, don't you know that I skipped out on House and ran up to my scrap room and began coloring! And creating! And this is what I came up with. I am so excited to share her with you. She will be in Guylou's store tomorrow.  You can find it here.  I hope to see you creating with her as well!!!
Do you see why I am so excited!!  I also what to throw out a great big Thank you to Guylou for making me skinny!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

OK, not really, but I wanted to play with my new stamp!!!  Maybe I will get a jump on my cards this year.  Last year I ordered a pre-order Christmas Magnolia (actually 2) and waited and waited and it came the first week of December.  This year I saw on All that Scraps that they had a Christmas Kit found here that was 6 stamps and if you purchased between Oct 1-15th they were almost $10 off.  I just looked and the lower price is still there.  Anyways I just love these images and played first with this one titled Trim The Tree. And I also purchased their Christmas Sentiment set. I figured I could since I saved so much on the Images, right!! LOL!!!
Isn't she CUTE!!!!  I am not loving her hair, but didn't want to keep blending and blending so it is what it is!!!
I found some roses from recollections boutique fleur made from mulberry paper at my local Michaels this weekend. They were on sale and came 30 in a pkg for under $3!! Now that is a bargain.  But they didn't have the paper pack I went there for. So I went to J's and they didn't have it either. I should have saved the gas money and bought online!!!

Ornament: Y-28 and Spica pen in gold as well as a glaze pen.
I used T-0 on her socks

All other papers are from CTMH Aspen kit

Thanks for stopping by! Wish I could share a cup of coffee with you!

Fall Decorations

What a wonderful Sunday morning I am having!!  We had to turn on the heater this morning for the first time this fall.  We really could have done it sooner but today it was a must have!!  I have spent the last couple hours playing in my scraproom.  As of right now it is a DISASTER!!!  I may have to do some cleaning before I do any more creating!!
So, what was I creating, you ask?  I was working on a project for this weeks challenge over at All that Scraps.  I don't do a lot of "projects", usually cards and in the past pages.  I really wanted to do this challenge though, so here it is!!  It also qualifies for the "Anything but a card challenge" over at Mad for Markers Blog.

My husband has a serious addiction to Laffy Taffy. I mean serious!!  He buys a 3 lb bag at least once a week.  What really gets me though is that the man is thin!!!  Really not a fair part of life!!  If I eat a few 5 pounds jumps right to my hips!!!  So as I was playing I had to "borrow" his taffy to put these together.  Having 5 grandkids, these will get eaten!  The challenge was to make a decoration, so I have set my little box in my entry way on a little table there next to this great pitcher that I bought as a decoration for Katie's wedding in August.
OK, now for the supplies:
Copics: too many to list!!
The fence and pumpkins are from my very talented friend Guylou.  You can find the digistamp here
The cute little girl sitting on the pumpkins in Emma from All that Scraps, a CC Designs stamp
The Life is Sweet stamp is a Hamptons stamp.
Sorry my post was so long this morning!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Dance

While hopping my favorite blogs this week I saw that Guylou did a challenge with more than one fold. It inspired me to do the same.  The challenge can be found here.  I have really enjoying entering challenges lately!!  I love this whiff of joy stamp called Willow Dressing Up.
We were in our little Bi-Mart store here last weekend and they have a very small scrap section, but I came across this paper called "Its all about girls" by DCWV.  They only had it in a 6X6 stack. I have used all the shoe paper. There are only 3 pages of it, so am going to search it out today to find the 12X12 pack. I love the other papers as well.
The sentiment stamp is one I have had in my stash for a while. It is from Mirramark. I think I bought this one on ebay.   So I finally broke down and bought roses from http://www.allthatscraps.com/.  I bought a pkg of magnolia roses, CC designs roses, and prima. I wanted to see what I liked the best.  The ones on this card are the prima and the magnolia. Not that I didn't like the CC designs ones, they are just not the right color!!  So I have decided I like them all!!!
Copic colors:
Hair: Y-11, Y-21, E-95
Skin: E-00, YR-00, E-11
Dress: R-89, R-85, R-83, R-81
Embossing folder: Swiss Dots
Nestabilitie: Scallop rectangle.

Whiff of Joy dressing up

Today I had a lovely Sunday afternoon where I was able to create a couple of cards.   I have had this sentiment stamp for a long time. I am not even sure where I got it.  I think it goes well with this Whiff of Joy stamp that I received recently.  I just love this image! I bought this DCWV paper today. Thought it would work great with this image.  Also I used the tutorial from Color me Copic, for their challenge this week.  You can find it here

The copics used on this card are: E-04, E-43,
E-44, E-47, E-49, C-1, BV-00, BV-02, BV-04, BV-08, B-60, B-63, E-00, E-11, YR-00, R-20.

Espressly for you

I just love this Wiff of Joy image. Willow with coffee.
I am such a coffee lover as you may be able to tell by the amount of coffee cards that I make. There isn't a coffee image that I don't covet!!!  I also found this adorable paper from DCWV today and had to use it with this image.   Love the shoes!!!  And Willow wears such great shoes!!!

I didn't have to use too many copics on this one.  The colors of her dress and shoes are BG-10, BG-13,
BG-15, and BG-18.  Her hair is E-13, E-17, and E-18. Her skin is E-00 and E-11 with a little R-20 for her blush.  The coffee cups are colored with E-51 and E-53.  OK, so that is a bit of a list!!!

Manly cards -Wednesday

I love this little guy. All that Scraps weekly challenge is to do a masculine card. I made this birthday card for my new son-in-law who has a birthday this week.  The challenge can be found here.  I colored with my copics of course.  I know the image is hard to see, but I put liquid glass from CTMH on the cherry and the flame. Thanks for stopping by.

Fill your cup

On my way to work one day last week I was listening to KLUV a Christian radio station and the host was talking about something she has seen. I didn't get if it was a card or what exactly she saw.  It was "Fill your cup, and nourish others with your overflow".  I dug into my purse and grabbed a business card and scrawled those words on the back of it.  I just knew I had to go home and make a card with those words.  I was also browsing around on the internet and saw Willow with coffee and knew I had to have her.  There is just something about coffee images that reminds me of me heritage.  I grew up the daughter of a pastor, as well as one time farmer in Alberta.  The thing about these farmers in Alberta is that winter, summer, spring, fall, any weather; you stop in and they put a pot of coffee on.  My dad still goes for coffee in the mornings with his coffee friends.  And my mom has frozen desserts ready for when family and friends stop by.  I know I will use this sentiment again.  If I can find one of a girl reading her Bible over a cup of coffee or tea, it will be perfect.

Enjoy Life

One more card for Card Making Day!!!  I bought this little cutie at the Craft Warehouse last week and had to play.  The inside sentiment says "It's Delicious!"

Thanks a latte

I know I have played with this stamp a lot. It is one of my favorites. It was a gift from my friend Gina. If you know who makes this stamp let me know! I don't know what I did with the packaging!! I also found this awesome ribbon on ebay. LOVE it!! As well as the coffee cup brads.  Thanks for stopping by.

World Cardmaking Day

I got a chance to play today an World Card Making Day.  Next week is Bosses Day so I started by making a card for the Boss.  I tried to make it somewhat masculine.  I played with some flower soft that my friend Gina sent me. I was wishing that I had some orange for the fall, however I used some copper glitter that IRL looks really good.

The stamp set is from close to my heart as is the leaf paper.  I made up the sentiment as I couldn't find anything for this holiday!!!
