Ippity Clean and Simple

Over at the Outlawz we have some pretty talented designers that do Clean and Simple so well.  I mean, these ladies are seriously talented!!  One of them, Rona is my very own Ippity Chick.  I had not even heard of Ippity until Rona introduced it to me.  Ippity is part of the Unity Stamp company.  The stamps are deeply etched rubber that you mount on a clear block. I love that.  Anyways, here is my attempt at CAS with a new set that I just received this week.  The set is called Thankful for you.  And I just love when my packages come all neatly wrapped in tissue paper with free papers and a handmade flower.  Lovely customer service! You should check it out!!
The paper is from K&Company.  Isn't it elegant?  I bought an 8X8 pad last week when all the paper packs were 40% off at M's.
I really like the look of gathered lace in case you haven't noticed on my projects lately!  I also broke down and bought a Tim Holtz distress Ink.  I have a gazillion colors of CTMH inks so have not gone down the distress ink path yet, or just didn't think it was necessary but finally gave in and this one is walnut.
Well, there you have it, my entry into the CAS challenge at Ippity Opportunity Challenge blog.

God Understands

Last week as I was blog hopping I came across this weeks challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ.  The challenge is to create a card or project that depicts the sharp contrast of black and white or ivory. I chose to do black and ivory with this gorgeous new paper I got from K&Company.  I also fell in love with the stamp set the design team used and ordered it to play with.  I would still like to win it. I have lots of uses for a second set!!  It is from Layers of Color

I used some ivory lace and then sewed some sheer ivory over top of that.   I used the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Two for the sentiment.

I used my sewing machine for two steps with this card. Both around the designer paper as well as to gather the sheer ribbon over the lace.  I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Walnut stain to edge the ribbon tag.  The challenge was black and white so I kept it that way for the front of the card but added a little pop of color to the inside with Spellbinders butterfly.  The ivory paper was cut out with a Martha Stewart around the edge punch.

Thanks as always for stopping by, I love company!!

Now to add some challenges.

The Stamp man challenge blog has stitching.
Crafts and Me challenge is to use ribbon.
Deep Ocean Challenge blog is to use ribbon.

I used a new stamp this week.  Oh my gosh, I had so much fun coloring this image.  In my mind as I am coloring this I am thinking, "which one am I?" hehehehe
Do you see my doodles? I mimicked waves on the blue My Mind's Eye paper.  The yellow paper is from Echo Park splash collection.   This fun image is Girlfriends by Art Impressions.  Isn't this image just hilarious?
So you have from now until next Monday at Midnight to upload your card to the color challenge.  Don't forget your doodles!

Saturday playing and an Odd Girl Challenge

I rarely enter the same challenge more than once, but the challenge over at Some Odd Girl just calls out to me to play more than once.  If I get some time I will be back to play again.  The challenge is to lift one of the Odd Girls.  *snicker, snicker* just love that title!  I have been browsing the DT's blogs and I have come across one by Asa that I wanted to lift.  You can find Asa's card here.  It was one that had you using kraft or white and 2 pops of color.  For my lift I used orange and green.
These papers are from the Stella and Rose collection from My Mind's Eye.  Have you been checking out the yummy papers coming out at CHA?  Definitely wish I lived close to that!!
I know I have seen a lot of people use their copic inks to color ribbon and lace, today I used my YR-68 to color a white button.  I had some orange buttons but none of them were big enough to give me the pop I wanted so I colored a white one I had.  The lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I am almost out! Might have to place another order soon.
There are 3 more days to play along in this challenge.  I wonder if I will get to visit some more blogs and lift a few more DT members?
And here are the copics I used.  This is the first time I used these colors for hair.  E-99, 97, 95, and E-19.  What do you think?
Now let's add this to some other challenges.
Allsorts challenge is Free and Easy.
Make it Colourful has color your embellishment. I colored my button.
Crafty Catz challenge has no pink or blue.

Tuesday Color Challenge

It is Tuesday again!!  You all know what that means.......color challenge at the Outlawz!!!  And such a fun color palette too! Our colors are brought to you by Jenn this week.
What a yummy inspiration photo.  Now, you would think I would use a watermelon image.  But I didn't, I used a new stamp I received this week from Some Odd Girl.  I told you they were my new addiction, didn't I?!!
This is Tiny Baker Tia. I used one of the sentiments that comes with her. The frame is an addition to the Sweet Thinkin Mae stamp.
I was driving this week and I looked up at the sky and there were these rolling clouds, with dark sky in between. I decided to try to replicate that with my ink and a sponge. The pink paper is from Echo Park. It is hard to see on camera, but I machine stitched in a hot pink thread as well. Look close!
And of course you know I had to do a little something on the inside!
Can you see the sprinkles on the cupcake/

OK, now the deets of the challenge.  The sponsor this month is Happileigh Scrappins Designs.

Lift an Odd Girl Challenge

Have you checked out the new challenge over at Some Odd Girl?  The challenge is to lift an odd girl.  So I spent some time roaming through the odd girl design team blogs.  I say that like I have never done that before, right?!! LOL, of course I have. I seriously love these stamps. They are some of the funnest images to color.  When I stumbled upon the card at Zarah's and in english blog I knew it was the one I wanted to lift.  You can find her card here.  I hope you can see the lift. :)  I used the new clear stamp Sweet Thinkin Mae.  She is from the new releases. You knew I had to have her!!

I pulled out some of my favorite papers from My Mind's Eye and decided to paper piece her dress and bow.  I added some flowers and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, some dragon fly buttons and fancy pants pins.

The little charm is from my stash from when I used to sell CTMH.

Mae has been popped up.  I used E-000,01,11,13 for her skin and my favorite pinks R-89,85,83 for her shoes and shrug.  Her eyes are YG-83 and 85.  I distressed the edges and added some ink with CTMH creme brulee ink.   We wouldn't be done til I showed you the inside of my card.

I am going to add this to the challenge at Moving Along with the times that wants us to use our favorite things. They are Some Odd Girl, My Mind's Eye papers, copics, and wild orchid craft flowers.
Lollipop Crafts has anything goes.
Sparkles forum challenge has lace and elegance.
Totally Papercrafts has girly girls for the challenge.

CAS at the Outlaws.

I have been wanting to play along with the Clean and Simple Challenge over at the Outlaws for a while now.  I finally got around to doing a challenge!  And, well I made it just in time for this weeks challenge. There will be a new one tomorrow.  This weeks challenge was to use absolutely no design paper but to stamp your background.  I had this background stamp from CTMH.  I thought it looked Christmasey.  I used my Ippity Stamps I got from my Ippity Chick Rona.  What you should know is how fabulous these stamps are.  Super nice deep etched Rubber!!
I hope this is considered CAS!
The background stamp was stamped with cranberry ink and the tree's were stamped with english ivy both from CTMH.
I used copics to color the trees and some spica to give a little glitter that is really hard to photograph.
Have you been to the Outlawz lately.  We have some fabulous sponsors this month.  I hear a little rumor that we may have a big giveaway when we hit 1000 members and we are not that far off so you will want to keep an eye out for it!!
I am going to also enter this over at
Crafty Emma's challenge which is Christmas.
Addicted to Stamps has Christmas as it's challenge.
Stamp Something also has Christmas.

Thinking of You

I was blog hopping this weekend and I came across a blog that I follow that is asking for Get Well Cards for a special lady.   It seems that Sheree's friend Ethyl had a horrific accident.  You can read all about it over on Sheree's blog, Vancouver Island Craft Junkie.  When I was in the 6th grade I lived on Vancouver Island for 1 year. It is one of my most favorite places that I ever lived.  Anyways, when I read her story I wanted to make a card and I thought I would also share.  Crafters are some of the most kind hearted, giving people I have ever met.  Along with my card goes many prayers for full healing.

On this card I have used some of my new favorite things.  I have used this gorgeous paper from Echo Park called For the Record.  The background red paper is actually from EP as well, but from the Holly Jolly collection.  The birdcage and bird are from Tim Holtz.  The tag is a Magnolia tag and the flowers and lace are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have had this lace for a while but was just waiting for the perfect project to use it on.

You can actually pull the tag out from between the two papers.  The punch is and EK Success punch.  It is hard to tell but the bird was actually edged with some Creme Brulee ink from CTMH. As were the edges of the scalloped papers.

I used a butterfly spellbinder on the inside with more of that EP paper.  Sheree said that Ethyl is in her
late 70's so I was going for a vintage flair.  I hope that she gets enjoyment from the cards that are being sent to her from all over.
I am going to go ahead and enter this card into a few challenges.

Cute Card Thursday has lace as it's challenge.
Bearly-Mine has anything goes.
City Crafter Challenge has birds of a feather using birds or a birdcage.
Creative Craft Challenges has pretty blossoms
Party Time Tuesdays challenge is a square card

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will check out Sheree's post as well as see the candy she is giving away to someone that sends a card to Ethyl.
