Make A Wish

Today is my husbands 46th birthday.  He didn't have to work today and spent time cleaning and getting the house ready for the kids to come over tonight for his birthday.  I think he is a pretty good guy!  I wanted to make him a card with one of Kenny K's images.  I bought this image last month called Miss Thang.  She looks like she has a bit of attitude! LOL.  I have a bit of attitude myself!  This weeks challenge was distressing, so I did a little distressing. I find it hard to do to much to a guys card. For one they don't appreciate all the hard work that women do, and it'll find it's way to his drawer and probably not come out!!!!
the tag is from Whimsy Stamps. You can find it here or in Canada here.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I have been working in craft room for some upcoming projects that I can't wait to show you!!!  But I will!!!

Noel

Talk about cutting it close!!!  All week I have had in mind to get my card done for the Weekly Wednesday Challenge over at All That Scraps.  I don't like to miss a challenge over there!!  You all know how much I love my CC Designs stamps!!!  What could be easier than using Christmas Flowers?  And yet I didn't get it done until the last possible day.  I used for the first time one of the Sweet November Sprites, this one is Penelope. Isn't she darling?
The background paper is some from my Christmas stash that I bought a couple of years ago on clearance from Basic Grey. I bought so much of it!!!  I am really hoping to find all that yummy Echo Park papers on clearance this year!!!
I did use a touch of it to mount the embossed green cardstock that I wrapped that large white sheer ribbon around.  I had to add a touch of red!! I used a scribbles paint around her head wrap and muff.
The Noel stamp is from AmyR, don't you just love her sentiment stamps?  I do!! I have 2 sets that I am going to be ordering in January once the holidays are over.   And of course you know I will be showing you the inside of my card. You know it doesn't have to be fancy, just a little border punched paper gives it a finishing touch. This punch is from Recollections I found at Michaels.  I also used a Martha Stewart branch punch to add some branches to the Poinsettias from Making Memories.

I didn't have to use a pile of copics on this image, just some of my faves!!!

You make me Smile

It is time for a new Challenge over at guylousinimitability.  We just finished off the Christmas Challenge where we had some wonderful entrants. We really appreciate everyone playing along.  The new Challenge involves a free digi from Guylou. It is one that should make you smile!!!
The Challenge involves using this Smile Bingo card along with another digi by Guylou.   The winner will be awarded a digi image of her choice from G's store as well as be invited to be a guest design team member for a future challenge and will get another image to play along on the challenge.  The Challenge runs from today until January 6th at 10 PM.  I hope you will play along.  If you don't have any of her images, there have been several freebies on her site at CDAC.  We are only 14 members away from 300 and I know she is planning something special for the members when we hit 300.  For becoming a follower of her blog you will receive a free image. Or check out the many images in her store.  So why not join us in the challenge and see if we can make you smile!!!
My card was made with her image of Bernadette.

And of course the inside!!
My reds seem a bit funky on the screen, they really are blended better IRL!
Hop on over to Guylou's and check out all the talent by her design team.

Seeing Triple, or in my case Quadruple!!

There is a fun little challenge going on over at die cut dreams. The challenge is to:
Make 3 cards that match, same theme, similar or the same images and they must all have the same layout .
I used this darling image from Stampendous and of course my fave sentiments from All That Scraps.  Here are my creations!  And as you can see, I didn't stop with 3, I made 4!!  Isn't this the funnest ribbon? And such delicious paper from So Delish just baking line.  Love it. Thought it was perfect for this image!
I hope the layout is enough the same to qualify!!  I had a lot of fun with these cards. Thanks for stopping by. Wish I could offer you a gingerbread man and a cup of coffee!! Of course, then I would have to do some baking!!!

ABS Color Challenge

So, I woke up this morning with a card design in my head.  Have you ever done that?  I have dreampt of card designs and woke up without remembering them, but this time I woke up with this design in my head!!! So I decided to use it for a challenge.  And there is a color challenge going on over at Anita Be Stampin.  It calls for these colors.

I hope that I used the right colors. Sometimes the color on my computer is a little funky.  In those colors I saw my fave copic pinks, R-81,83,85,89 and for the greens I say YG-91,93,95.  I hopped on over to her store and picked up a digi image named Aspen.  Isn't she a doll?  I just love her outfit, so cheerful. I really wish I could pull an outfit like this off!! LOL.
I just really love an image that doesn't require me to color all day!!  This image was just an easy peasy image to color.  I used some white scribbles paint on her fur.  It has a nice shiny effect. I think the hardest part of this card was getting that hemp fiber through the button holes!  I actually took my skinny little round file from making memories and filed the holes larger!
This sentiment is from the AmyR Stamps Holiday Greetings set that I picked up this year from All that Scraps.  I have used this set so much, I think on every one of my Christmas Cards, so versatile!!!
OK, an inside shot!!!  Super easy inside, just gives it a finished appearance.
I did some inking with Creme Brulee ink from CTMH.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, as always I enjoy your visits!!! Publish Post
It also fits the challenge over at mad for markers,  a Christmas Card using non-traditional colors.

One Crazy Stamper

How fun is it to do something you love and have them posted on other blogs?  It is the funnest thing ever!  I am the guest designer for One Crazy Stamper for the month of December. Don't you know that the cards I made were with my fave stamps by CC Designs.  For this card I used Cupcake Kiki. I just love her.  I think she has the funnest hair to color! LOL, sometimes I have a problem with the shading of hair, but Kiki just makes it easy!!!
I used this gorgeous paper from My Mind's Eye, quite contrary. It is a yummy thick textured paper that I just love. In fact I am pretty sure that I need more!!  I love the greens and reddish pinks in this paper.  It also lends itself to some of my favorite Copic colors.   I added some scribbles paint in white and then sprinkled some yummy glitter on it to look like sprinkles on her cupcake.  It just cried out for a cherry on top! I used a yummy pearl sent to me by my friend Gina.  When adding ribbon, I have such a hard time with a yummy bow, so I added my ribbon under the nesties with a knot instead of bow.  That sentiment, is from my stash.  It lends itself perfectly to kiki holding a sweet cupcake, don't you think?
It is kind of hard to tell but I added Glossy Accents to her hair bobbles, flower, and eyes.
The Copics in this project:
Hair: Y-21,23,26
Skin: E-000, 00, 95, 93
Dress: R-32,35,37 and YG-0000,00,01,03
Shoes: E-24,27

Thanks for dropping by my blog, I love visitors!

Snowflakes are Winter's butterflies

A week wouldn't be complete if I didn't get my entry in for the All That Scraps Challenge. I don't try to hide the fact that these images are some of my favorites!!  This week for the challenge was Snowflakes.  Do you ever come across something and you absolutely have to put it on a card? I found these snowflakes at Walmart in the Christmas decorations isle.  You get 20 of them for $3. Can't beat that. I was bound and determined to add it to a card. Hey you can send a card, and your recipient can take it apart and hang the snowflake, right? Just don't tell me that you took your card apart!!  I actually colored a different image, was putting the card together, but needed a little smaller of an image so colored up another Sugarplums Christmas Angel to use on my card. I decided to use blues so that not only does it match this lovely Echo Park paper, but so I can add it to the challenge over at http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ which is to use Blue, and of course my snowflakes are blue.
Let me show you another angle. Hey when we do all that work, we want to show it off, don't we?
Now if you love the sentiment as much as I do, you can find it over at All That Scraps.  They are AmyR Holiday Greetings.  You will find these all over my blog.  I am really wanting her sassy sentiments set, that is my next purchase I think, it might even be a Christmas gift to me! Ok, the inside of the card is very simple this time. But you know I am gonna show it!

I didn't have to use a lot of copics on this card, but I used some of my favorites!
Hair: E030,31,33,35
Skin: E-000,00,93,95
Wings and Socks: E-50,51,53
Dress: B-91,93,95,97

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, I love visitors, wish we could sit and share a cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa!!

Are you surprised to see that I colored up a CC Designs stamp?!!!  I used Sugarplums Santa Emma sitting on some gifts from my last years stash!!  You can find the sentiment set here.
I just love this darling image.  I used a snowflake them using the gorgeous papers from Echo Park. There is some flower soft on her hat and a cute little snowflake charm hanging from the sheer red ribbon. I stitched around the card and also used the cuttlebug embossing folder with snowflakes.
Anyone want to see the inside of the card? I used a Martha Stewart punch and more of that delicious paper!

Christmas Challenge at Guylou's Inimitability

Guylou is having a Christmas Challenge over at http://guylousinimitability.blogspot.com/.  Come on over and play!! If you don't have an image, G has wonderful Christmas images at her store.  I am blown away by how good they are and how inexpensive these digital images are.  Really, $2 for an image you can store in your computer, size any way you want and use over and over!!  Gotta love it.  Last week I showed you 2 of her Louise images, well sometimes we need Christmas cards for guys or kids and this week I decided to use Snowman Cowboy on my card.  This was an easy image to color, the card came together pretty easy, and was fun to make!!  If you pop on over to her store, make a run through all the design team members and see what they have created as well.  If you become a member at CDAC, there are freebies given away often.  Here is my card!
I used the little cut out snowflakes from the punch on the snowflakes on the card.  I used a couple of Martha Stewart punches on this one.  Thanks so much for stopping by. I really hope you can join us for the Challenge.
Maybe you want to know what the prize is!! DUH!!!  The winner will win a digi stamp of their choice as well as a Design Team spot for a month with a digi stamp to make a card along with the design team, now how fun is that!!!!?

Wishing you a Beautiful holiday

This weekend I enjoyed extra time in my craftroom and I just had to play with this image again from SCACD.  It was a gift from my friend Gina. Funny how people know exactly what you love in an image!!!  I added a bit of bling to this one. I also used the labels she sent me and the flower soft.  It has a glitter to it. I used Glossy Accents on the Poinsettia and the mug.  The sentiment is from ATS.  This gorgeous paper was in a pack from CTMH that I guess I had been hoarding for the last 2 years. I finally broke into it this year and have used it a lot.  I thought the snow in threes would be a perfect backrop for this image.  I hand cut the top of the image and then ran it through my cuttlebug to cut the rest of the image out.  The colors I used on her sweater are some of my faves: BG-72,75,78, her pants are C-01,03,05, and boots C-03,05,07.  The red on here are
R-29,27,24,22 and the fence is E-74,77,79.  I have been using an ink from CTMH to ink the edges in the color of Creme Brulee, it is the perfect vintage color.

As always, thanks for stopping by, wish I could put the kettle on for coffee, tea, or cocoa!!!
