Some more yummy candy

Claudia has more more yummy candy on her blog.  You should head on over and while you are there check out her gorgeous creations!!

All good things must come to an end!

That is what they say isn't it?  I can't believe that my time as Guest Design Team member over at All That Scraps is over.  What it also means is that we are already two months into this new year.  Tomorrow will be March already.  OK, did you hear that, March, it is time to quit snowing already and start warming up!!  We don't get much snow in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. We have had our share of icy roads this year, that is for sure!  Oh wait, I got off the subject.  I was going to show you my last two cards for the All That Scraps Blog.  I really had fun with the new releases and this first card showcases the Swiss Pixie Bouquet Basket stamp.  I used some gorgeous My Minds Eye paper, imagine that!  I just loved these colors and thought I would make my basket green instead of your usual brown.
I used the Tags it Rubber stamp and die set to create the Celebrate tag.  I added some Recollections roses from Michaels.  Now it wasn't my intention to cut out this basket by hand. Have you ever had a copic drop a huge drop of ink on something you colored?  I was almost done with this image, my very last flower and I got a huge glob of purple ink on it. I had no choice but to cut it out.  Or scrap it!! Well that wasn't going to happen!!  I also used glossy accents on the flowers.
The second card that I made for you uses one of my favorite stamps.  This Swiss Pixie Nurse Nora is available in either Rubber of Digital format.  I have her in the rubber format.  I really love to ink them up.
I used some Martha Stewart glitter on her wings.  Isn't that paper the cutest?  It is from My Mind's Eye. Imagine that!!  I always gravitate to their paper because it is thick and textured and I love that!  I used the AmyR Get Well Sentiments set for the sentiment on this card.  I am pretty sure there is a fabulous sentiment set for anything you want by AmyR!!  Love them!  I find myself gravitating to them all the time!!
Did I mention I got my new toy on Friday?  I did it, I bought the Grand Calibur and OH MY GOODNESS, I love it!!!!   You can put several dies in the machine at once.  This card was cut using a Grand Spellbinder Label 1.  The card is 5.5 inches.
As always, I love having you stop by, wish we could share a cup of coffee or tea and chat!!

A Day For Daisies

So I know this card looks very much like the one I posted this weekend.  Do you see what the differences are?  First of all, I adore this image.  But second of all I needed to make a card for one of my docs whose last day with us is tomorrow.  She is from India and she is preggo with her first child.  She has always been appreciative of the cards I have made her in the past and I wanted to make her a special one for her going away card.
The thing is, I have never colored Indian skin before.  This is my first attempt.  What do you think?  I used
E-11, 15, and 17 on the mother and E-11, 13, and 15 on the baby.
On her outfit I used BG-32, 34 and G-00.  The baby's blanket is G-21,24,28.  Her hair is E-29,27, and
E-13.

I added a Wild Orchid Crafts cherry blossom to the gold sheer ribbon.  The bling is Prima.
Can you guess who makes the paper?  My Mind's Eye of course.  Actually last time I was at the Craft Warehouse the paper was 40% off, and some of the MME was 50% off.  I love a good sale.  The sentiment on the inside I think is so fitting for someone starting a new phase of their life.
It is a sentiment by AmyR.  One of my favorites, it is her Get well sentiments.  I just love these and so many more of hers!!  My Grand Calibur is due to arrive on Friday, the snow has slowed it down.  I ran this Grand nestie through the cuttlebug.  It is one of the smallest of the set.  It comes in at about 5.5 inches.  I can't wait to cut with the biggest in the set!!  I am loving these shaped cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  It is so much appreciated.

Anita Be Stampin Challenge #9

It's Tuesday and time for another Anita Be Stampin Challenge. This week we are working on a sketch from Anita.  I had so much fun with these images this week.  I chose to play with Rosie Shops.  Those who know me, know I love to shop.  But I don't shop for clothes or shoes as much as I do for stamping, crafting supplies any more!!!  My husband would say I am a collector, or perhaps a hoarder of crafting supplies. I just had a visual of one of those Hoarders shows, but I am stuck in my craft room surrounded by paper!  And flowers, and stamps, and charms, etc. You get the picture!!  I am sure if you are reading this you know what I am talking about!! LOL.
Check out this awesome sketch!!!  I can't believe how fun it is to use a good sketch. I am used to sitting down and trying to design my own, it can go so fast with a good sketch!!!!  Instead of using ovals on my card I decided to use the Spellbinders Label #14.  And I used some of my all time favorite paper!!  I just love this paper from DCWV.  I found this paper in the little 4X6 paper pack and quickly used it all up.  I searched all my local stores, and believe me none of them are local. I have to go 25 miles to my closest Michaels, and 40 miles to the Craft Warehouse and there are no LSS here!  When I did hit those stores they didn't have it in stock.  I was whining (yes, whining) to my girls over on Scrapbook.com and my girl Gina found it at her LSS and sent it to me!!  Now that is a lot of work to get the perfect paper!!!  But I got to use it on my card today!!
Now, isn't that the perfect paper for today's image?  Love it!!  All the paper is from this same pack All About Girls.
I inked all the edges with Smokey Plum ink by CTMH.  A sheer silver ribbon and shoe charm finish off the card.
I stamped one of the shoes from the set and added glossy accents for a little extra on the inside.
Today I have 2 posts for you, I hope you can check out my other card for my Outlawz post today as well.  As always thanks for stopping by, I love to have you visit!!!

Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge

Wow, what a party we are having over at the Outlawz.  And the party is not over.  There is still some time to get your entries in.  Just not to our color challenge. That ended last night.  We had some awesome entries last week. Thanks to all of you that played along!!  Can't wait to see who wins all the prizes.  This week the challenge is a tough one!!  At least I think so!!!  Here is your color challenge inspiration picture!
Lime, charcoal, and white.  The twist is to add some bling.  Now I am on the design team and even I overlook the rules sometimes!!  I made my card, posted it to prepare for this week and realized I forgot the bling.  I added pearls for my bling.  I hope that counts as bling!!  I did a CAS card.  Clean and Simple!!  We have had people make comments that they didn't want to join the challenge cuz they didn't know how to color.  That would be a different challenge, LOL.  Ours is a Color Challenge in using color
 as our inspiration.
I usually try to start out with paper, then go forward.  I found this paper, again from My Mind's Eye. You would think I had stock in the company as much as I have used it and mentioned it lately!!!
Then I used a stamp on charcoal colored cardstock.  I dug out my Zig Chalk Writers to make it pop a little, added my silver/grey ribbon and my pearls.
What do you think? Can you come up with an entry for Tuesday's Color Challenge? I bet you can, and I would love to see your take on this weeks challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I appreciate every single comment I get!

Feb 21st Guest Design Team for All That Scraps

I can not believe how fast time has flown.  I have enjoyed every minute of my time being the Guest Designer for All That Scraps.  I only have 1 week left!!  The cards I have to share today were so much fun to make. I went a little outside the box for my first card today. I used Spring Brigitta Bouquet on this flip flop card.  I saw this type of card in the March edition of Card Maker, but I bet if you google flip-flop card you can find the directions. Let me know if you can't and I will post them here.
I used different My Mind's Eye papers on here.  I also used the Tags it Rubber stamp and die set to cut out the flowers.  I used AmyR Get Well Sentiments on the inside.
You know these sentiments from AmyR have so much more than get well sentiments. This may just turn out to be one of my favorite sentiment sets ever.  Check out the shot from above.
OK, now this second card was also so fun to make. I used the Spring Kiki LaRue.  You know how much I love Kiki!!!  I used her twice! I love the look of featuring her on the inside of a card, just in a monochromatic ink.  I also used another sentiment from the AmyR Get Well Sentiments.  I used a Spellbinders Label 8  to cut out my card.  Again some fabulous My Mind's Eye paper for this one. The 2 sheets of paper I used are actually one.  The layer is the opposite side of the cardstock. One of the things I love about My Mind's Eye is that their paper is thicker and textured. Love it! It looks so rich on this card.
I used my Copic Color Chart to find the BG's in the paper to choose the colors for her dress and headband.  Here is the inside of the card.
And a close up of the sentiment.
And another shot of the front of the card. I used a bigger wild rose from Wild Orchid Crafts. And a Gold sheer ribbon bow tops it off.   This card just really showcases that great image and that fabulous paper.
This card is going to go out in the mail today to a sweet blogging fried that just lost her mother.  Sympathy cards are not easy to make and sentiments are not easy to find. I think this one is perfect.
If you have time, head on over to the All That Scraps Blog and Challenges.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  So sad that next Monday will be my last as GTD.  I have had a blast!!

A Day For Daisies Very Vintage Challenge #12

I recently was invited by an online friend to join A Day For Daisies on the Simply Scrapping ning group.  When the group has 100 members there will be a free digi image given out.  Head on over and tell them Brenda sent you.  :)
They recently released some gorgeous images  of mother and babies.  The images are called You Make Me Happy.  I just think these are gorgeous images.  I had a hard time choosing, but I really love this image.  I have a friend that just recently had a baby.  This week in fact and I wanted to make her a special card.  She had a sweet little baby girl, so there has to be some pink involved!!  I wanted to make a card for the Challenge this week.  The challenge is Very Vintage.  There are new releases as well as a freebie to use if you want to make a project and enter it into the challenge.  I have been wanting to get this image inked up though so I chose to use it instead of the freebie. I will use that later!!!
I had this gorgeous paper called  Lost & Found by My Mind's Eye, I thought the roses looked vintage.  I used CTMH creme brulee ink to ink around the edges of the image and papers to give it that vintage feeling.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The black bling is from Prima. Ok, onto the card.
I stepped away from my favorite Copic Colors that I use so often and used the G-21,24,28.  I had used the G-21 as well, but just didn't like the blend and went over it.  The baby's blanket is R-20,21,22.  The skin colors were E-0000, 00,01,02,93,95.  I wanted the mom's hair to be black, I hope it is not appearing grey!!  I used C-5,3,1.

The sentiment is from AmyR, Get well sentiments. I thought this sentiment would also be good for a new mom.  I inked again with the creme brulee and added another piece of Prima swirls bling.  The paper on the inside is another from the same line, but it has smaller roses.  I also used 3 different nesties on this card.
As always, thanks so much for stopping by. I am enjoying a quiet Sunday, doing some coloring and catching up on design team stuff.  Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for my Guest team spot for All that Scraps.

Anything Goes Challenge at Guylou's Inimitability

What's not to love about an Anything Goes Challenge?  The Challenge over at Guylou's Inimitability is Anything Goes.  We had some fabulous entries to the last challenge.  I hope you can find your way over to Guylou's site and join in this challenge.  The challenges go on for 2 weeks so you have plenty of time to get your creations done.
Guylou's Inimitability Design Team got to play with the feature digistamps called "Phillip" and "Molly". "Phillip" and "Molly" are hard working people in an industry that is not always appreciative of their service. Next time you go to a restaurant, please take a moment to thank your waitress and send a good word to the cook, that will make their day.
I chose to work with Molly.  I took the colors for my card from this peach colored card.  I really haven't played much with this color.  I actually used some reds for the peachy color on this card.
Do you ever have your project done and then you start adding stuff you shouldn't have.  Well last minute I added glitter to her cake and well, I shouldn't have.  It looks fine IRL, but to photograph it, nope, doesn't really work!!  I think any musical paper looks good with a birthday card, you know, there is usually some singing going on.  I also used my CC Designs Tag it and Rubber Stamp set to cut the flowers. I used some white ink to soften the edges of the flowers.  The stamp is from AmyR Sassy Sentiments set.

You will have until March 3rd, 10:00 pm (EST or click here to find out the corresponding time where you are) to enter your cards or projects here. Be sure to add the link to your entry and not your whole blog as this makes it much easier on the team to find your creations.

As always, thank you for stopping by my blog, today instead of putting on a pot of coffee, I suggest we go out to my favorite coffee shop, where we can be served by one of these great wait persons!!

Anita Be Stampin Challenge #8

I am so excited to share another Anita Be Stampin  card with you this week.  We had so many people hop along with us on Saturday.  It was so much fun.  We have a pretty simple sketch for you this week.  Sometimes the simple sketches are the hardest to work with!  I love to add all kinds of stuff to my cards, but a simple sketch is hard to make them look right.

I ordered a Grand Nestie set this past week. It came in the mail yesterday, so when I got home from work I played! LOL, I have been wanting to get some of the larger nesties to make some shaped cards and so here you have it.
It is kind of hard to see on here but I used glossy accents on her barrette, on her eyes and her flower.  Glossy Accents are hard to photograph but look so awesome on a card.   I had some lace that perfectly matched this paper from My Mind's Eye.  Don't you love that plaid?  On the opposite side is airplanes.  I doubt I will ever use that side, but I love the plaid!  The Thinking of You stamp is from AmyR at All That Scraps.

The rest of the design team has some pretty amazing cards to show to you this week. I hope you will head on over to the Anita Be Stampin Challenge Blog and play along with this weeks Challenge.  Anita has some fun stuff up for grabs and I would love to see what you put together with this sketch.
I have 2 posts today so I hope you will scroll on down and see what we are doing over at the Outlawz this week.

Giddy Up Partners......... It's time for a Showdown

Have you headed on over to the Outlawz this week?  We are having a party!  Head on over to the main page and read the rules.  There are so many awesome prizes up for grabs this week. But hey, I am here to talk about my challenge!!  I am on the Tuesday Color Challenge Team and we are running with the western them this week.  Check out our inspiration picture for today.
How perfect is that for a western theme.  OK, now onto my card.  I had fun with this awesome image from Guylou's Inimitability.  Meet Cowboy Chuck.  How cute is he!!  He reminds me of my time growing up on the farm in Northern Alberta.  My brother Stephen once roped a chair when he was on the back of our horse, you should have seen that horse go crazy.  The rope was tied to the horn of the saddle so the poor horse thought something was chasing it as the chair bounced behind it.  It looked funny, but gosh it was scary. So this little guy Chuck reminds me of my brother.  I gave him blonde hair like my brother had.
I have to say, I had a lot of fun creating this card.  This paper is a pack I have had from Close To My Heart.  The word Celebrate was actually on one of the papers.
And a view of the inside.

The prizes up for grabs in the Tuesday Challenge include

1st Place - $15- Gift Certificate
2nd Place - $12- Gift Certificate
3rd Place - $10 Gift Certificate

I hope you will head on over and check out all the Challenges this week.  And have some fun partying with the Outlawz!

Happy Monday Guest Spot at All That Scraps

Can you believe we are half way through February?  Happy Valentines Day to you all.  Today I am not featuring Valentines though!!  Today I used the new February release stamps at All That Scraps.  I love the new Bouquet Brigitta and the new Spring Kiki La Rue.  They are so versatile.  You can use them for any reason that you might share flowers!  The other thing that I featured in todays creations is the new Tags it Rubber Stamp and Die Set/.  How great is this set?!!  I love that you can cut out a tag and then border it with the stamp. I also used the flowers on my Thank you card today.
I just love this My Mind's Eye paper. I went looking for it yesterday, it was all gone at the craft store I found it at!  I just love coloring her hair!! I added glitter to her wings and added a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts along with the 2 turquoise ones from Recollections.
The next card I used a Martha Stewart punch and branch punch along with my flowers. Again the bigger rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the smaller from Recollections. The thing I was worried about ordering flowers from the UK, but oh my goodness they are inexpensive and fast.  Love that site!!

I loved the music paper, I thought it was fitting for someone singing, "Happy Birthday to You."

On both of these cards today I gave a little curl to the tags.   It just gives a little dimension to the card.
As always, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today.  I only have 2 more weeks as Guest Design Team member for All That Scraps.  How sad is that!!!  I love playing with these fun images.
Have a great Monday everyone, now let me get back to drinking my coffee!!!

The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge

Can you believe it is Tuesday already?  This past week has gone by fast.  The color challenge this week at the Outlawz is Poppy, Turquoise, and white.  The twist is to include ribbon or lace.  I will tell you what, these colors are indeed a challenge!!!  I found this paper by My Mind's Eye that has the colors in the challenge today.  Here is your inspiration for this weeks challenge.

What do you think about this inspiration?  Lots of fun I think, and not my ordinary pink combo's!!! Here is my inspiration card for you.

I added this adorable stamp by LOTV called Together Forever.  It also comes with the sentiment "Together Forever".  I added some Coordinations glittery paper in turquoise and used one of my EK Success punches.  The twist was to add lace.  I added that in white.  I used my new favorite lacey circles nestabilitie along with some roses from Recollections that I found at Michaels.  Luckily I had some in both poppy and turquoise!!
I had so much fun coloring this image.  I used the R-01,02,05,08 for the poppy color and the BG-10,13,17 for the little guys shirt.  I didn't write down all the copics, if you are wanting to know any of the colors I used just let me know.
The die cut sentiment on the inside of the card was part of the paper package from My Minds Eye.  I love this set! I hope you will stop over at the Outlawz Color Challenge this week and play along.  While you are there check out the Main Page, we are having a huge party next week beginning on February 13th.  You have a huge chance to win prizes in every challenge, including a huge Grand Prize.  I will have more info later on in the week.  I hope you can join us!

Monday Guest Spot at All That Scraps

Happy Monday!!  Normally, I am not a Monday kinda gal, but the last 2 months I have been excited to see Monday.  Monday mornings I head over to All That Scraps Blog to see which of my projects that I sent are spotlighted for the Monday Guest Design Team spot.  For February I got to play with the new AmyR Get Well Sentiments along with the new Swiss Pixie Bouquet Birgitta and the new Spring Kiki La Rue.  You all know how much I LOVE both the Swiss Pixies and the Kiki La Rues!!  So it was so much fun to play with these!  I love the sentiment stamps.
Guess what?  I made my own umbrella!!!  I had one from a layered sticker set that did not match what I needed so I took a circle punch and an oval scalloped nestie and made my own!!  I had this fabulous paper from My Minds Eye.  I thought it was perfect for this sentiment.  I used some stickles on the flowers and her necklace.  I had some raindrops that I also added.
Now, the next card is with Swiss Pixie Brigitta.  I just love coloring this image. She is so much fun to color!!
Do you see those flowers?  They are part of a new CC Designs Tags it Rubber Stamp and Die Set.  How fun are these?  You get not only the die but also stamps to give dimension.  I inked mine with a white ink and added pearls to the center.
I also added glitter to her little wings and highlighted her flowers.  On these I wanted to make them look like yellow daisies.  So springy, I hope the sun starts shining soon for all of us!!  And the center of this card.
I love this Martha Stewart around the edge punch for a simple inside to your cards.
As always, thanks for stopping by today.  Need to finish my cup of coffee and then get a move on it today!!!
