Wedding Journal

Happy 4th of July!! I hope you are all enjoying your day. While I am enjoying my day, my husband had to work.  So, I spent some time in my craft room as well as the kitchen and M's and J's.  Both stores had a coupon for % off your total purchase, but J's had everything papercrafting on 40% off so I spent most of my moolah there!!  We are having a neighborhood BBQ and fireworks, always fun.  So I am working on a potato salad and red, white, and blue jello parfaits for the kids.
Now, my daughter's MIL asked me if I could make a wedding journal for her other son's fiance so this morning I spent some time working on that.  I made one for my daughter when we were planning her wedding and she loved it.  I started with a plain old composition notebook.

I used Mod Podge as my adhesive to attach the black cardstock to the front, back and inside pages.
I used a file on all the edges to give it a little distressed look.

I cut out one of Tim Holtz dies in my Cuttlebug.  You can use a sizzix block with just the two B plates for cutting in your cuttlebug.  I then used a little E-53 and colorless blender to distress the cage and bird.  But then in the next shots you will see that I also cut it out in black and used the black bird rather than the white one.
I added a piece of DP from CTMH.  This is my last piece of this paper!!  I wonder if they still carry it.  I used rub on letters for Tinsa's name and title.  The best tool I have found for rub on's is this dental tool called a ball burnisher.  Somehow one of the old one's found it's way home from work with me instead of in the garbage. :)
I then added some bling and a key to the ribbon.  I used my cropadile to make holes in the front and back for the red ribbon.  You know, I tried to throw other stuff on here, but just really liked it simple.  I don't know how people make such gorgeous stuff with piles of embellies, I can't seem to make it work for me.  My friend Gina throws everything at her cards and they are gorgeous!!  Can you see the key?  I love key charms.

I made pockets for clippings. You know when you are planning a wedding it is always nice to have pockets for magazine pics.  So I put pockets on the different pages.
And the back cover.
I used the tabs spellbinders as well as labels 1 of the grand nesties.  The tag is a Magnolia tag and the bird on the front cover is a sizzix.

I have made several projects with this paper pack lately.  You can find a couple of them here and here

I am adding this to the following challenges:
Craft your passion has Anything Goes
Make it Monday has Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp and Show has flourishes
Paper Sundaes has stitching, faux or real, mine are rubons

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you all enjoyed your holiday.  For me it is back to work tomorrow.

I think this is gorgeous, Bren, and such a thoughtful thing. I love how you have pockets for the odds and ends she'll accumulate as she plans her big day. And thanks for the comment about my cards (unless there's another Gina out there who goes a little embellie crazy, LOL). You made me smile.
