Thank you ~ You're a Star Challenge

It is time for another challenge over at Guylou's inimitability.   Our Challenge for the next two weeks is to make a thank you card with a twist.  The twist is there must be a star on it somewhere.  Whether it be an embellishment, a stamp, a digistamp, or the paper that you use we are looking for a star somewhere on your project.  For my card I used Breakfast.
This image reminded me of the red and white enamelware that you can still find at antique stores.  The paper is from DCWV kitchen stack.  It reminded me of a shabby chic table cloth.
The star that I used is a button on the sheer ribbon bow and the Thanks sentiment that I got from the Cutting Cafe.   It is from the same file I used earlier this week called With Gratitude.  I cut it out with a small circle nestie and threaded some brown twine through it.  And of course the copics I used for this project:
Now don't forget to check out the other design team inspirations over on the Challenge Blog.  I hope you can find some time to join with us on this challenge. We always have so much to be thankful for!!

You have until 10:00pm on September 29th to link your project to the InLinkz at the end of this post. Please make sure your project matches the requirements before you link it.

With Gratitude

This time of year when we start feeling fall in the air I start thinking about Thanksgiving and the Holiday season.  I got to play with the new set over at The Cutting Cafe called With Gratitude.  This is such a fabulous set with a background stamp, dots and stripes, scallops, and lots of sentiment stamps.  For my card I used the background stamp and on the inside one of the sentiments.

I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz walnut ink. I must get some more of these!!  My base is black with some vellum paper layered with the background paper.

I can see so much possibility with this fabulous set.  While you are over at the Cafe checking it out, check out the new Tuesday challenge.  It is called Case it Tuesdays with the Cafe.  Sounds like fun!!

I am going to add this to I brake for Challenges~the challenge is backgrounds.

Thankful For All You Do

The challenge over at Some Odd Girl this week (and next) is a Thank You challenge.  I decided to use a ticket stamp that I have from Whimsy called Ticket Sentiments.  I pulled out some of my favorite My Mind's Eye papers and my new favorite clear stamp Sweet Thinkin Mae.  I wanted to give the card some 3-D effect so I paper pieced and added pop dots cut really tiny to her hair, bow, dress, and shoes.
I have been playing with my sewing machine and ribbon lately.  I love this turquoise polka dotted ribbon, all rouched up with a sheer polka dot ribbon on top.  Next I added some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, a little purple clip and there you go!
I used my favorite copic skin colors~E-000, 01, 11, 13, and E-93.  For her hair I used E-21, 23, 3=25, 27, and 29.  I added some RV-63 and 66 to her dress and bow just to give a little highlight. And her eyes are YG-93 and 95 cuz my eyes are green. :) I also added some glossy accents to them.
This was such a fun card to do.  I don't know about you but card making is my therapy!!  I really appreciate you stopping by.

OK, now let's see what challenges I can add my card to.

Thanks A Latte

How many of you know that this is Dental Assistant Week?  I manage 2 dental offices in town.  One for kids and Ortho and another for general dentistry.  If there is anything that motivates the staff at my offices it is coffee cards.  Well, I also like them as a way of saying Thank You.  So I made the assistants cards this week and slipped a Dutch Bro card in the center of them.  Right behind the ribbon.  First off, I love my staff.  If you go into my offices you will see in every one of their rooms cards that I have made for them posted on their bulletin boards.  That makes me feel good.  I hope the girls liked their cards for this week.  I also bought each of the girls a coffee cup to use at these foo foo coffee stands so they don't have to use the throw aways.  They will get those later on this week.  The hardest part of these cards was coloring the images.  Here are some of them.
Gotta love this Whiff of Joy image.  It is definitely one of my all time favorites.  Funny thing is most of the girls said, "looks just like me! LOL"  I wish!!!  I did them all alike, using my Grand Calibur to cut out the card and papers.  Had to make them as quick and easy as I could!!

Now, my real question is why do dental assistants get a whole week and Bosses only get 1 day?
Wish you could all step in and we could share a cup of my favorite beverage called coffee!!!
Oh and on a side note, I want to thank my friend Dana who made me my awesome watermark.  Have you ever noticed that yummy cup of coffee in there that says "Brenda"?!!!  Love it, thank you Dana!!

Happy Monday Guest Spot at All That Scraps

Can you believe we are half way through February?  Happy Valentines Day to you all.  Today I am not featuring Valentines though!!  Today I used the new February release stamps at All That Scraps.  I love the new Bouquet Brigitta and the new Spring Kiki La Rue.  They are so versatile.  You can use them for any reason that you might share flowers!  The other thing that I featured in todays creations is the new Tags it Rubber Stamp and Die Set/.  How great is this set?!!  I love that you can cut out a tag and then border it with the stamp. I also used the flowers on my Thank you card today.
I just love this My Mind's Eye paper. I went looking for it yesterday, it was all gone at the craft store I found it at!  I just love coloring her hair!! I added glitter to her wings and added a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts along with the 2 turquoise ones from Recollections.
The next card I used a Martha Stewart punch and branch punch along with my flowers. Again the bigger rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the smaller from Recollections. The thing I was worried about ordering flowers from the UK, but oh my goodness they are inexpensive and fast.  Love that site!!

I loved the music paper, I thought it was fitting for someone singing, "Happy Birthday to You."

On both of these cards today I gave a little curl to the tags.   It just gives a little dimension to the card.
As always, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today.  I only have 2 more weeks as Guest Design Team member for All That Scraps.  How sad is that!!!  I love playing with these fun images.
Have a great Monday everyone, now let me get back to drinking my coffee!!!

Wiff of Joy

I love hunting season!!!  Why, you ask?  Because today as my husband went back out bow hunting I was able to sit alone in my craft room and create!!  I made 5 cards today. I am going to show you one!!  I will show you the others soon enough.  The one I want to show you today is for the Challenge over at the whiff of joy monday challeng blog.  I love when there is a sketch to follow and Tara has given us this one:

So my take on the sketch is a little different. I used a rectangular image cut out with a nestabilitie.  Love those and am putting some on my Christmas wish list. My list just continues to grow!!  For my card I used Shy Willow.  She was a gift from my friend Gina.  I love Whiff of Joy stamps. Especially Willow as you know!!
She just seems so serene!!  And you know I have to show you some other angles!
I just love these mulberry roses. These are in brown, red, and white.
Of course you want to see the inside, well and if you don't I want to show you!!!
I made this card for a friend that lost her mother last week and was looking for a card to send to the hospice care home she was in before she was able to go there herself to take care of her.

Anita be Stampin Challenge

There is a new challenge blog in  town!!! anita be stampin is having a challenge and I decided to play along. I don't have any of her rubbah yet, so I used a freebie I got over at Paper Craft Planet for the image.  And what is the best part you ask?!!!  There is a sketch to follow!  Here it is:

I love a good sketch, it takes most of the work out of it!!!  I dug around in my stash for most of my papers for the challenge. The background paper is from Recollections and the strips are from SEI.
The main copic colors are:
R-81,83,85
E-000,00,02,93
BG-10,13,15
Those flowers are mulberry from Recollections and the pin is from Fancy Pants. You know me, I need to show you some more angles!
And the inside:

You're Tea~riffic

I am so blessed to have an amazing friend, Kristin.  I work with her, but she manages at another location. Recently I had to request some help from her. She never hesitates but is always so willing to be a support for me. I hope that I am as much of a support for her as she is to me.  Of course I had to make her a card!!  I used my favorite Whiff of Joy stamp, Willow with coffee, but made it with a tea twist. Everyone knows I love coffee, but I grew up with a Gramma that loved tea.  Some of my first memories of Gramma Lusch are when we would have tea (lots of milk) and cookies at her table.  I loved having tea with my Gramma.  I generally have tea when I get together with my friend Kristin.  There is a place that we pop into that has an amazing Vanilla Coconut Tea blend and I love it!!!  So rather than making her a coffee themed card I thought I would make it Tea themed.
And of course, a view of the inside!

How about one more close up!!!
I love these papers from My Mind's Eye, Little Miss Muffet Line. They are such a thick gorgeous paper to work with. I just love them!!  Plus they match perfectly with my favorite Copic red combination.
Copic are as follows:
Hair: E-13,17,27
Dress, shoes and purse:R-81,83,85,89
Cup: E-30,31,34
Skin: E-000,00,02,93
I am also going to add this card to the challenge at: Cute Card Thursday

As always thanks for stopping by, would love to invite you in for a cup of coffee, or in this case let's make it tea!!!

Thanks so much

Last night I sat and made a few cards. This stamp is from Hero Arts. I colored it with my copic markers. The cardstock is from CTMH. The ribbons are fancy pants.
