Adore

I love making cards just to make cards!!  I am sure I will find some challenges to enter this into but it was just fun to make!!   No coloring, just sewing, die cutting and some amazing paper.
This amazing paper is from K&Co.  I just loved the black and white with butterflies and decided to add a die cut from Tim Holtz with a background of kraft paper.  I inked the edges with CTMH creme brulee ink. I added some of that gorgeous white lace from Wild Orchid Crafts and some sheer gold scrunched ribbon on top.
I then added a little metal tag that says adore, a charm and some pearls to finish it off.
Don't forget to enter my blog candy.   I will be picking a winner soon.

I am going to add this to these challenges:
Crafty Sentiments Designs has punches and die cuts. I used a Tim Holtz butterfly die.
Delightful Challenges has things with wings.
Pals Paper Arts has a recipe challenge: 1 DP, 1 punch and 1 sentiment.
Southern Girl's has black and white with a pop of color.
Flutter By Wednesdays  of course has a butterfly, angel, fairy on it.
The Paper Shelter has stitching. I have mine on the ribbon.

As always, thanks for stopping by my blog. I love visitors!!

Thinking of You

I was blog hopping this weekend and I came across a blog that I follow that is asking for Get Well Cards for a special lady.   It seems that Sheree's friend Ethyl had a horrific accident.  You can read all about it over on Sheree's blog, Vancouver Island Craft Junkie.  When I was in the 6th grade I lived on Vancouver Island for 1 year. It is one of my most favorite places that I ever lived.  Anyways, when I read her story I wanted to make a card and I thought I would also share.  Crafters are some of the most kind hearted, giving people I have ever met.  Along with my card goes many prayers for full healing.

On this card I have used some of my new favorite things.  I have used this gorgeous paper from Echo Park called For the Record.  The background red paper is actually from EP as well, but from the Holly Jolly collection.  The birdcage and bird are from Tim Holtz.  The tag is a Magnolia tag and the flowers and lace are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have had this lace for a while but was just waiting for the perfect project to use it on.

You can actually pull the tag out from between the two papers.  The punch is and EK Success punch.  It is hard to tell but the bird was actually edged with some Creme Brulee ink from CTMH. As were the edges of the scalloped papers.

I used a butterfly spellbinder on the inside with more of that EP paper.  Sheree said that Ethyl is in her
late 70's so I was going for a vintage flair.  I hope that she gets enjoyment from the cards that are being sent to her from all over.
I am going to go ahead and enter this card into a few challenges.

Cute Card Thursday has lace as it's challenge.
Bearly-Mine has anything goes.
City Crafter Challenge has birds of a feather using birds or a birdcage.
Creative Craft Challenges has pretty blossoms
Party Time Tuesdays challenge is a square card

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will check out Sheree's post as well as see the candy she is giving away to someone that sends a card to Ethyl.

Tuesday Color Challenge at the Outlawz

Not only is it Tuesday again, but already the last Tuesday in June. Unbelievable how time flies the older I get. Part of that I suspect is the fact that every Monday I wish for Friday!  LOL, I wish my life away one week at a time!!   Anyways, it is time for another color challenge at the Outlawz.  Our color challenge this week is brought to us by Jenn.   red, white & yellow June Jolt: add fabric( felt, fabric flowers, burlap, etc.)
And the inspiration photo.

You know our pastor has been talking about using your "gifts" and I have been wanting to start using this gift and making cards that I can donate to the Church that can be given out when a card is needed.  I think I told you how when I had surgery 5 women brought us meals.  It was an amazing ministry.  And where it is hard for me to make meals because I work so much I thought this was something I could do.  That being said, I went looking for Scripture or encouraging stamps and this is the one I found.  So this is a start to my stash!
What a fabulous verse is that?  I know I will use this stamp a lot.  I also used Tim Holtz bird and cut it out with Kraft paper.  The buttons are a sizzix die cut as well.  I just used a little red twine in the center.  And the felt is cut out with my nestie and is stitched around the edges, though it is hard to see in the picture.  I also stitched the edges with my sewing machine.
Now, I want you to take some time to check out the main page on the Outlawz.  Do you see that Oozak is sponsoring us again with a $50 gift card.  I want to win that!!  But I can't so I want you to!!  I get all my Copics from there!   All you need to do is head on over and play in at least one challenge!!
Now, do you like to create with Digi's?  We have some fabulous artists at the Outlawz that have started a Freebies page.   You should check out the talent of Anne and Sandi.  They are so talented!
Now I just want to remind you that the Color Challenge this month is being sponsored by Delicious Doodles.  They have some amazing digital images to choose from.
