Some Odd Girl tag and tutorial

Some Odd Girl is having a facebook contest to make a tag.  I had fun with this challenge using Coffee Mae.  It has been a while since I made a coffee themed project.  They are one of my fave things to do.  So I thought I would share my tag with you and then a coloring tutorial with my fave hair and skin colors.  I hope you will stick with me, I have lots of photo's today.
Here is my finished project.
I made mine a double tag and sewed a pocket on the inside to add a coffee card.  That coffee card on the inside is the one I just got from my friend Gina with some birthday goodies!! Thanks Gina!!  I used some new My Mind's Eye papers. Oh my gosh those new Lost and Found 2 are gorgeous!!
Ok, now I took a succession of photos on how I color the hair and skin with my fave color schemes.

First I layer a very light amount of E-23
Then I add a very light amount of E-25
some E-27
Next I go back over it with E-23.  I flick in the direction of hair growth.
back again with the E-25, then e-27, and lastly I add some E-29
Next I start a base color on her skin with E-0000
Then I add E-01 around her hair line, arms, legs and you will notice her ear. I accidentally colored it with the hair and used my color blender to remove the color!
next I blend with the E-000 and add a shadow for her nose.
Next I add E-11 and blend those.
After E-11 I like to add some E-13
And you can see all of these need blended. I also add some E-95 on her cheeks and E-04 to her lips,
And the final project after I match her clothes to my papers and embellishments is above.  I almost always color Mae with green eyes.  She reminds me of me.  And I have green eyes!!

I am also going to add this to the challenges at:
Come and Get it~color challenge of red, black, white.
Allsorts has anything but a card.
Crafty Purple Frog is anything but a card.

As always, thanks for stopping by.  I had a fabulous birthday this weekend.  I used inlinz to choose a random winner to my birthday candy.  Brynn over at Flair and Frills was our winner.   Thanks so much for playing along.

Thankful For All You Do

The challenge over at Some Odd Girl this week (and next) is a Thank You challenge.  I decided to use a ticket stamp that I have from Whimsy called Ticket Sentiments.  I pulled out some of my favorite My Mind's Eye papers and my new favorite clear stamp Sweet Thinkin Mae.  I wanted to give the card some 3-D effect so I paper pieced and added pop dots cut really tiny to her hair, bow, dress, and shoes.
I have been playing with my sewing machine and ribbon lately.  I love this turquoise polka dotted ribbon, all rouched up with a sheer polka dot ribbon on top.  Next I added some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, a little purple clip and there you go!
I used my favorite copic skin colors~E-000, 01, 11, 13, and E-93.  For her hair I used E-21, 23, 3=25, 27, and 29.  I added some RV-63 and 66 to her dress and bow just to give a little highlight. And her eyes are YG-93 and 95 cuz my eyes are green. :) I also added some glossy accents to them.
This was such a fun card to do.  I don't know about you but card making is my therapy!!  I really appreciate you stopping by.

OK, now let's see what challenges I can add my card to.

Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge

This week I was able to add a card to the challenge over at the Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge.

This week's challenge:  Oh Ballooney ~ Must Have a Balloon

Awhile back when I was camping I colored up some images with my Prismas, one of them was Balloon Kaylee.  So, as you know I love coloring with my copics but it is almost impossible to take them in the trailer when we camp.  My solution was to learn to color with Prismacolor pencils. They close up in a tin and I just have to take along my odorless mineral spirits and go.  I definitely am still learning but am
having a blast with the process.

The other thing I like to do when camping is take a little 6X6 paper pad and some A-2 cards to throw them together.  And when I get home throw on the extras and go.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from LOTV.

Tuesday Color Challenge

It is Tuesday again!!  You all know what that means.......color challenge at the Outlawz!!!  And such a fun color palette too! Our colors are brought to you by Jenn this week.
What a yummy inspiration photo.  Now, you would think I would use a watermelon image.  But I didn't, I used a new stamp I received this week from Some Odd Girl.  I told you they were my new addiction, didn't I?!!
This is Tiny Baker Tia. I used one of the sentiments that comes with her. The frame is an addition to the Sweet Thinkin Mae stamp.
I was driving this week and I looked up at the sky and there were these rolling clouds, with dark sky in between. I decided to try to replicate that with my ink and a sponge. The pink paper is from Echo Park. It is hard to see on camera, but I machine stitched in a hot pink thread as well. Look close!
And of course you know I had to do a little something on the inside!
Can you see the sprinkles on the cupcake/

OK, now the deets of the challenge.  The sponsor this month is Happileigh Scrappins Designs.

Lift an Odd Girl Challenge

Have you checked out the new challenge over at Some Odd Girl?  The challenge is to lift an odd girl.  So I spent some time roaming through the odd girl design team blogs.  I say that like I have never done that before, right?!! LOL, of course I have. I seriously love these stamps. They are some of the funnest images to color.  When I stumbled upon the card at Zarah's and in english blog I knew it was the one I wanted to lift.  You can find her card here.  I hope you can see the lift. :)  I used the new clear stamp Sweet Thinkin Mae.  She is from the new releases. You knew I had to have her!!

I pulled out some of my favorite papers from My Mind's Eye and decided to paper piece her dress and bow.  I added some flowers and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, some dragon fly buttons and fancy pants pins.

The little charm is from my stash from when I used to sell CTMH.

Mae has been popped up.  I used E-000,01,11,13 for her skin and my favorite pinks R-89,85,83 for her shoes and shrug.  Her eyes are YG-83 and 85.  I distressed the edges and added some ink with CTMH creme brulee ink.   We wouldn't be done til I showed you the inside of my card.

I am going to add this to the challenge at Moving Along with the times that wants us to use our favorite things. They are Some Odd Girl, My Mind's Eye papers, copics, and wild orchid craft flowers.

Dance Like no one is watching

Back in May I won a stamp from a blog hop for Some Odd Girl.  And I fell in love!!  My first stamp was Dancin Mae and she is still my favorite.   I found them on Facebook and "liked" their page.  Now I am seeing some sneak peaks of the new line coming out July 11th.  Next week is the reveal!!  I just have so much fun coloring these stamps up.  And for all you digi-lovers there are lots of them!!  Kristy has only recently brought some out in clear stamps.  The challenges run for 2 weeks and this weeks challenge is Bright and Blinding.  No pastels.  I love coloring with bright colors.  I decided that I wanted to combine this challenge with the challenge over at iCopic and use my airbrush.  So fun!!!  I stamped Mae on a scrap paper and cut it out to mask the image and then airbrushed.
Guess what?  These papers are from Echo Park!  Love them.  Not my usual MME!!  I also used my RV-25 and air brushed my sentiment.  I used BG-13,11, and 10 for the background.  Did you notice my new Grand Nestie?  I chose the scalloped squares for this card.  I added a couple of nestie butterflies as well.
I have to say that the BG is so much brighter IRL, I love how the airbrushing looks. The image is popped up and the butterflies sit on top so they are popped as well.
The inside of the card is pretty simple, but I wanted to add this little metal charm and thought it looked good inside.

And of course the copics I used for this card are as follows.
If you ever want to know the exact copic colors of the Ciao's I would be glad to let you know, just leave me a note.  As always, I enjoy your visits and your comments.  Wish I could put a pot of coffee on and sit a spell with you and chat or color!!  Thanks for stopping by.

I am going to add this to the fun with shapes and more challenge.

Happy Fathers Day with Some Odd Girl

Yup I know Father's Day is over, I am late with a couple of cards. I always have good intentions!!  I started early, even ordered 2 stamps.  One from LOTV and one from Some Odd Girl.  You know what always cracks me up is that people that do not craft actually think you save money by making cards instead of buying.  Yup, you are laughing with me aren't you?  Anyways, the challenge over at Some Odd Girl this week is to use Kraft or white and only 2 pops of color.  I hope my card qualifies.  I used Tobie and his Puppy. I really tried to color the puppy Kraft like, but needed to not get it too close to the color of his hair/face/other browns!!!  So my pops of color are denim blue and lime green.
Ok, do you see it?  If you saw my Monday post then you know I just got Copic Certified,  Yup, do you see that new little blinkie up on the right there?  Anyways, Maryanne Walker was my instructor and she shared about depth in the shading and shadowing.  What do you think about his face?  Shaded or playing in a mud puddle? LOL!!!
I used a cuttlebug embossing folder, some ribbon stash that I stapled on.  Yup, if you are gonna add ribbon to a Man Card, staple it!!  The sentiment is from LOTV.  The paper is both Kraft and My Mind's Eye and some denim stash.  I did some sloppy stitching on the card.  Cuz again, it is a Man Card!!
And of course the inside.
Super simple, denim blue CTMH ink on denim blue cardstock!

And some Challenges:
Crafts and Me has Stitches.
My mums Craft shop is for the boys.
Tuesday throwdown is to create a masculine card.

Thanks as always for stopping by.  Would love to share a cup of coffee with you some time!!

Saturday Playing and a Copic Journal

Are you getting to do something crafty today?  My husband went off to a bow shoot today so I got some laundry in, a load in the dishwasher, vacuumed the floors and headed into my scraproom.  Not sure I should keep calling it a Scraproom as I rarely scrap anymore.  My passion has become card-making.  I have recently invested in a bind it all machine though and my plan is to start doing some mini albums for the grand babies.   So maybe I will keep referring to it as that for now!!!  Anywhoooo, as I said I got to play a bit this morning.  I have been working on a project for ME!!!  I am pretty excited about that really, as I am usually making a card for someone else.  Have you heard of Pinterest?  Dana got me started on it recently, it is a type of bookmarking however, you get to put them on your board and you can find things easily.  I am loving it.  Recently I found this project and "pinned" it so I could go back and find it.  It is a Copic Marker Journal.  Well her journal led me to Copic Munkies where you can download all the PDF files for this journal.  Now all that being said I am excited to show you my creation.  I wanted to make this journal to take with me to my Copic Certification Class next weekend.  I am beyond excited to go.
I started with some of my favorite papers by My Mind's Eye.  These are from the Stella Rose collection. I love the aqua and brown colors in this line.  Don't you just love this image from Some Odd Girl?  You all know how I love my coffee, so when I was browsing through their digital images I couldn't resist these images called Going Out for Coffee.   This one is Coffee Mae.  I thought she was fitting for the front of my journal.
I recently won a prize package over at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I was super excited to win.  With it I won this ribbon and a package of Glubers.  I made this flower with it and some of the ribbon from the May package that I received.  The metal sentiment is from Making Memories.  The little create charm is from CTMH.
On the inside cover I made a pocket with the Labels One Grand Nestie Die.  I sewed 2 together to make a pocket for some extra images.  I plan on taking some to the class and I am always coloring some up for the next project.
There are 4 sections.  The first is for my Copic Inventory. I mark the Ciaos with a C and the Re-inkers I have with an R.
The next section is Hair and Skin.  I have just started my book so only have one page colored in.  I had to get at least one done before I posted my project!!
And some pages.
I love these Some Odd Girl Images for coloring hair and skin.  They are just so much fun.
The next section is Color Combos.
We all have some favorites.  I have just begun, but started with 2 of my favorite Red combos. I will be filling this section up, believe me!!!
The next section is Marker Families
I haven't started this section yet.  I will though!!

Here is what the back looks like.  And a close ups of the front.  Hard to see but I used glossy accents on her eyes, her headband, and her coffee cup.
Thanks so much for bearing with me for all these photos.  I am really looking forward to playing with my journal and I really hope you were inspired as well.  Thanks again for stopping by, wish I could put a pot of coffee on and we could sit and chat a while!
