Lift an Odd Girl Challenge

Have you checked out the new challenge over at Some Odd Girl?  The challenge is to lift an odd girl.  So I spent some time roaming through the odd girl design team blogs.  I say that like I have never done that before, right?!! LOL, of course I have. I seriously love these stamps. They are some of the funnest images to color.  When I stumbled upon the card at Zarah's and in english blog I knew it was the one I wanted to lift.  You can find her card here.  I hope you can see the lift. :)  I used the new clear stamp Sweet Thinkin Mae.  She is from the new releases. You knew I had to have her!!

I pulled out some of my favorite papers from My Mind's Eye and decided to paper piece her dress and bow.  I added some flowers and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, some dragon fly buttons and fancy pants pins.

The little charm is from my stash from when I used to sell CTMH.

Mae has been popped up.  I used E-000,01,11,13 for her skin and my favorite pinks R-89,85,83 for her shoes and shrug.  Her eyes are YG-83 and 85.  I distressed the edges and added some ink with CTMH creme brulee ink.   We wouldn't be done til I showed you the inside of my card.

I am going to add this to the challenge at Moving Along with the times that wants us to use our favorite things. They are Some Odd Girl, My Mind's Eye papers, copics, and wild orchid craft flowers.
Lollipop Crafts has anything goes.
Sparkles forum challenge has lace and elegance.
Totally Papercrafts has girly girls for the challenge.
Do you stack up is stitching.
Little Darlings Challenges is buttons, brads or eyelets. I used buttons.

Guylou's Inimitability Recipe Challenge

It is time for another Challenge over at Guylou's Inimitability Challenge Blog.  Our challenge for the next 2 weeks  is a recipe challenge brought to us by Kim.  Kim's recipe consists of:
1 ribbon
2 design papers
3 or more pieces of bling.
I think I really like this type of a challenge. I hope you do too!
I chose to use Leah with Watermelon on my card.

I used some my mind's eye paper, fancy pants pins, wild orchid crafts flower.  The ribbon is from my stash.  The sentiments were computer generated.  Of course I used my spellbinders in my Grand Calibur.

Hop on over to the Challenge to check out the design teams fabulous projects.
You will have until July 28th at 10 PM EST to complete your project.

Thinking of You

I was blog hopping this weekend and I came across a blog that I follow that is asking for Get Well Cards for a special lady.   It seems that Sheree's friend Ethyl had a horrific accident.  You can read all about it over on Sheree's blog, Vancouver Island Craft Junkie.  When I was in the 6th grade I lived on Vancouver Island for 1 year. It is one of my most favorite places that I ever lived.  Anyways, when I read her story I wanted to make a card and I thought I would also share.  Crafters are some of the most kind hearted, giving people I have ever met.  Along with my card goes many prayers for full healing.

On this card I have used some of my new favorite things.  I have used this gorgeous paper from Echo Park called For the Record.  The background red paper is actually from EP as well, but from the Holly Jolly collection.  The birdcage and bird are from Tim Holtz.  The tag is a Magnolia tag and the flowers and lace are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have had this lace for a while but was just waiting for the perfect project to use it on.

You can actually pull the tag out from between the two papers.  The punch is and EK Success punch.  It is hard to tell but the bird was actually edged with some Creme Brulee ink from CTMH. As were the edges of the scalloped papers.

I used a butterfly spellbinder on the inside with more of that EP paper.  Sheree said that Ethyl is in her
late 70's so I was going for a vintage flair.  I hope that she gets enjoyment from the cards that are being sent to her from all over.
I am going to go ahead and enter this card into a few challenges.

Cute Card Thursday has lace as it's challenge.
Bearly-Mine has anything goes.
City Crafter Challenge has birds of a feather using birds or a birdcage.
Creative Craft Challenges has pretty blossoms
Party Time Tuesdays challenge is a square card

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will check out Sheree's post as well as see the candy she is giving away to someone that sends a card to Ethyl.

Stars and Stripes

Do you ever have something in mind for a challenge and then when that doesn't work out you just lose your mojo?  I had the perfect paper picked out for today's challenge over at Guylou's Inimitability.  After I colored up my image I could not get that paper to work for it.  I pulled out some My Mind's Eye paper and a sentiment from CTMH and made it work.  I love this image called Leah at the beach.  If you can't tell I love Leah.  Now you are probably wanting to know where my stripes are aren't you?  Well, I decided since it just wasn't working out that the stripes were on the towel.  Or the waves.  Or perhaps the beach ball or umbrella.  You pick! :)

The star paper is from My Mind's Eye, but the waves are from Echo Park.  I think this was the first time I used these blues.  B-23,26,28 and Y-11,13,15. Reds used were R-21,22,24,27.  I decided to cut my image out and pop dot it.

I don't know about you but as we Celebrate this weekend I am thankful for a lot.  Happy Canada Day to all my friends and family in Canada.  And Happy 4th to all my friends and family here in the United States.

Now, I hope you will join us in the challenge.  And I hope you can find the perfect paper for your stars and stripes project!!  You should check out the other design team creations to see what fabulous projects they have come up with.  Now the challenge is open until July 14th at 10PM EST.

Anita Be Stampin Recipe Challenge

This is my second post for today.  If you are here for the Outlawz, that is in the post below.
But now it is time for another Challenge at Anita Be Stampin.  This week we have a Recipe for you.
How fun is that?  I rarely do recipe challenges, now I am wondering why.  This one was a lot of fun.  I used the fabulous Busty Betsy.  From the site:

100% of the proceeds from Busty Betsy digi image sales will benefit Susan G. Komen For The Cure.  By purchasing this digi you are not only supporting a cause close to all of our hearts (literally!), you are receiving a super cute digi to play with.  It's a win, win!

I think that is fabulous!!!  If you have ever gone through Breast Cancer with someone you love this cause becomes near and dear to your heart.
All the papers here are Making Memories.  I had to cut that background paper so that Believe would be in the corner of the card.  The tag is a magnolia tag.  I put a little R-81 reinker with some blending solution on the little felt pad and stained my tag with that.  Then added another believe stamp to that tag.
I added a gorgeous Wild Orchids flower to the bow.  I used my favorite colors this week.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to check out the other design team members inspiration cards today.  And join us in the challenge.

Happy Fathers Day with Some Odd Girl

Yup I know Father's Day is over, I am late with a couple of cards. I always have good intentions!!  I started early, even ordered 2 stamps.  One from LOTV and one from Some Odd Girl.  You know what always cracks me up is that people that do not craft actually think you save money by making cards instead of buying.  Yup, you are laughing with me aren't you?  Anyways, the challenge over at Some Odd Girl this week is to use Kraft or white and only 2 pops of color.  I hope my card qualifies.  I used Tobie and his Puppy. I really tried to color the puppy Kraft like, but needed to not get it too close to the color of his hair/face/other browns!!!  So my pops of color are denim blue and lime green.
Ok, do you see it?  If you saw my Monday post then you know I just got Copic Certified,  Yup, do you see that new little blinkie up on the right there?  Anyways, Maryanne Walker was my instructor and she shared about depth in the shading and shadowing.  What do you think about his face?  Shaded or playing in a mud puddle? LOL!!!
I used a cuttlebug embossing folder, some ribbon stash that I stapled on.  Yup, if you are gonna add ribbon to a Man Card, staple it!!  The sentiment is from LOTV.  The paper is both Kraft and My Mind's Eye and some denim stash.  I did some sloppy stitching on the card.  Cuz again, it is a Man Card!!
And of course the inside.
Super simple, denim blue CTMH ink on denim blue cardstock!

And some Challenges:
Crafts and Me has Stitches.
My mums Craft shop is for the boys.
Tuesday throwdown is to create a masculine card.

Thanks as always for stopping by.  Would love to share a cup of coffee with you some time!!

Anita Be Stampin Challenge 23~Shaped Card

Hey there everyone, here we are for another Anita Be Stampin Challenge.  This week we are challenging you to make a Shaped card.  There is a twist this week, to add buttons.  Now I know not all of the Design Team Members did this, so it is up to you.   I love to do shaped cards.  I love to use my Grand Calibur, just wish I had more Grand Nesties!!  They are on my wish list for sure!!  This challenge I used Tallulah.
Don't you just love this GORGEOUS paper by Cosmo Cricket?  I love the purses and the gorgeous colors in this paper.  I started with my image, picked my papers and then my colors to match the paper.   The Happy Birthday stamp is  LOTV circular sentiments.  And that gorgeous lace is Wild Orchid Crafts.   Love it!!
I distressed all the edges of the card.  Do you see the cute paper on the inside?  So cute.  I recently hit a sale where all those 6X6 paper pads were $3.99.  Yup, I got a few!!!  Here are the Copic colors I used on this card.
I hope you can find some time to join us in the challenge at Anita Be Stampin.  We are still on the Bi~weekly schedule, so you have some time!!

I am adding this card to the challenge over at Paper Sundaes Challenge~Girly Girl.
Clearlyistamp challenge is distressing.

Some Odd Girl Make a Scene Challenge

I have fallen in love with these stamps over at Some Odd Girl.  I can't help myself.  The first time I saw one I was hooked.  And then when I won one in a hop, well that did it!!  I recently received 3 more stamps in the mail and I had to ink them up!  You know how that is.  I also got my Harbor Freight Air Compressor in the mail this week.  Just in time to use for this weeks challenge.  It is to Make a Scene.  I know this is a pretty simple scene but I wanted to try out the compressor with a little air brushing.
I cut some clouds out, then air brushed around them with BG000 and BG0000.  I then used some greys to highlight the lower part of the clouds.  I used a little twine for the balloon string.  The paper in the background is from My Mind's Eye. I know, you are all surprised!!  This stamp is Balloon Kaylee.  Isn't she darling?  The balloon has glossy accents on it, but is not photographing that well.
And of course a pic of the Copics used for this card:
I pulled all these colors from that gorgeous paper!

I am adding this card to the challenge over at Wee Memories, the challenge is to stamp it. I used the acrylic stamp for this image.

As always, thanks for stopping by my blog.  I love visitors!!

Anita Be Stampin Challenge #18

It is Tuesday and you know what that means?  Yup, another Anita Be Stampin Challenge.  I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. I got to see all 5 of my grandbabies.  My son and daughter in law are due in the next 2 weeks with my second grandson.  Looking forward to that.  Anyways, this week we have another great sketch from our very own Jen.  She has supplied us with a great sketch this week.
Isn't that fun?  There are lots of layers on this one.  I decided to use my Rosie Shops set this week.  I got a lovely surprise from my friend Gina this week. She found one of my favorite paper packs from DCWV at Marshalls and surprised me with it!!  Just love that girl!!  Anyways, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to play with Rosie Shops so I can use some of the fabulous papers!!  This is such a great set, you get 6 sentiments and shoes, and charge cards, and of course Rosie!!
I decided to sew all my layers together with a deep pink thread.  I paper pieced my shopping bag.  Here is a good view of how many layers and how it is popped up.
We have some new design team members at Anita Be Stampin.  I hope you will check out all the talent of the "new" and "old" design team.  I am happy to say that Anita asked me to stick around for the next design team term.

I hope you will join us this week for the challenge.  The more entries we have, the more chances you have to win a prize!!!  All the rules are posted over on the challenge site.
Well, I wish I could put the pot on and share a cup of coffee and some chat with you!!
Also, don't forget to check out my other post this morning!

Hey ladies, we only need 5 more followers at Paper Craft Planet for Anita to give us another freebie. Anyone out there not a member yet?  Come on ladies! :)

A Day Late and a Dollar Short

Remember that saying? Am I aging myself?  Well, I am a day late to this weeks Challenge over at Guylou's Inimitability.   Excuses, excuses.. Well, I really thought I could get this done in time.  Last Friday I had my 3rd surgery in  less than 5 months and it seems that this one took the most out of me. I have only left the house to walk around the block a few times and my one appointment to the doctor.  So, that is my excuse! I got my image of Jace colored earlier this week and just couldn't get myself into my craft room to put this card together until yesterday.  But I did get it done!!
Today's challenge was hosted by our very own Tracy.  Her inspiration colors are as follows:
Great colors.  There is a twist though, Tracy challenged us to use something that we found around the house, something unconventional.  I found a copper washer thingy.  Not quite the washer but the flatter piece that goes on the other side. You know what I mean!!  I forgot the black! But I did use a deep Brown in its place!  Maybe I should have just given up!!!  Anyways, here is my card for todays challenge.
Yeah, this card is really not like what I usually do, but I really had fun coloring this image. I think it is an awesome image for so many things.  Hope you will join us in the challenge. It will really make you think outside the box!!  I know it did me!
So glad you stopped by today.  Tomorrow is Easter, what an amazing holiday. Time to remember what our Lord and Savior has done for us. I hope that you all enjoy your time with family and friends, and eggs, and chocolate and take the time to reflect on what the day really means. I know I will!

Anita Be Stampin Challenge #17

Happy Tuesday!!!  It is time for another Anita Be Stampin Challenge.  Wow, we had a lot of participants last week with our Anything Goes challenge.  Hope you had time to play along.  This week our very own Jen supplied us with a sketch.

I decided to use my Bears & Bunches for my card this week.  This is a great set. You get 2 images and 3 sentiments with this set.  I wanted to try something new. I have never done a monochromatic card.  I used all E's on this card.  iCopic is having a challenge this week using the theme monochromatic, so I think I will enter this in the challenge over there.

I hope you will stop by Anita Be Stampin Challenge this week and enter the sketch challenge.  We have several prizes up for grabs. The more that play, the more prizes there are!!  The design team once again have done some awesome inspiration projects.  Head on over and take a look!!

I also want to enter this card at Copic Creations this week.  Their question is what is your favorite paper for copics?  I think my very favorite is X-press it.   I also love Neenah. This image was colored on Neenah.   There is a poll over there this week, you may want to check it out, they are giving away a gift certificate to the Paper Temptress so you can try your own!

Anita Be Stampin Challenge #16

It is Tuesday and time for another Anita Be Stampin Challenge!!  This is my second post today so I would love it if you would check out the Outlawz challenge I posted earlier!

Today is one of the easiest challenges ever!!  It is an Anything Goes Challenge.  I decided to step out of the box (literally) pun intended! And not do just another card this week.  I did 4 mini cards and a box to put them in.  This was fun.  I used to do these types of things more often.  I hope you enjoy my project this week.

OK, that is enough pictures!!  I just really had a lot of fun with this little project.  Once again I used
Rosie's Sweets from Anita Be Stampin.  Make sure that you head over to the challenge and check out what the other amazing Design Team Members have made this week.  They are pretty fantastic!

I am also going to enter this into the Card Sets Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!!  The challenge is to make a set of cards to give away.  You should play along!!

Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge April Applications

It is Tuesday again, so that means it is time for another April Applications Color Challenge at the Outlawz!!!  This week our inspiration was picked by Jenn. It is one of my favorite things!!
MMmmmmmmmmm, Cheesecake!! I don't know about you but this inspiration picture makes me want some cheesecake!!   The April Application is  Vanilla, brown sugar, and a touch or red.  Add sewing, either machine, hand or stamps!  I decided to use one of my all time favorite stamps by CC Designs, Cocoa Emma.  The sentiment is from AmyR also from All That Scraps, Sassy Sentiments.
I just love these papers.  Both of the red papers are from Christmas lines but don't look Christmasy on this side of the paper.  Pretty sure they are My Mind's Eye!!
And the Copics today:
I hope you can find some time to make it over to the Challenge today.  We have a great sponsor this week.
We also have some great prizes in the month of April from both Oozak as well as SCACD.
I am entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge over at All That Scraps.

Thanks for stopping by today, please check back later for another great challenge at Anita Be Stampin!

Anita Be Stampin Challenge #15

It is Tuesday again and that means it is another Challenge over at Anita Be Stampin.  This weeks inspiration is brought to you by Tracy.    She chose a fabulous color palette for us this week.  I happen to know that orange is one of her favorite colors so I am not surprised to find it here!

I chose to use the stamp set Celebration Cooper.  I had a blast with him.  This awesome set comes with 6 different sentiments and I actually used 3 of them on my card.  I was inspired by the sentiment, "Birthday Moo-la" and made a card for some "Moo-la".

This paper from My Mind's Eye, Sophie Clever collection is actually brown with an orange graph.  I added some glossy accents to the balloon, eyes, and flower.  I used my Cropodile to add eyelets to the 4 corners of my accent paper and then threaded my sheer polka dot ribbon through.

I made a tri-fold card and added a velcro dot to keep it closed.  I had fun with sewing, distressing, and inking on here.

I made a little pocket on the inside for the "Moo-la"!    I hope you enjoy my card, I had a lot of fun making it!!
Now, why don't you hop on over to the Anita Be Stampin Blog and check out all the other fabulous creations by the design team.  While you are there check out the rules for our challenge and jump right in!!
I would love to see what you come up with this week!
And I have a sneak peak for you....We have a blog hop coming up on Friday that you don't want to miss.  Here is a little sneak peak!  I will be back to show you more on Thursday the day before the hop.
