God Understands

Last week as I was blog hopping I came across this weeks challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ.  The challenge is to create a card or project that depicts the sharp contrast of black and white or ivory. I chose to do black and ivory with this gorgeous new paper I got from K&Company.  I also fell in love with the stamp set the design team used and ordered it to play with.  I would still like to win it. I have lots of uses for a second set!!  It is from Layers of Color. 

I used some ivory lace and then sewed some sheer ivory over top of that.   I used the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Two for the sentiment.

I used my sewing machine for two steps with this card. Both around the designer paper as well as to gather the sheer ribbon over the lace.  I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Walnut stain to edge the ribbon tag.  The challenge was black and white so I kept it that way for the front of the card but added a little pop of color to the inside with Spellbinders butterfly.  The ivory paper was cut out with a Martha Stewart around the edge punch.
