Another Tuesday Color Challenge

Welcome to another Tuesday Color Challenge at the Outlawz.  I had so much fun with these colors. I decided to do another layout with one of my favorite pictures of Gunner.  This was Gunner last year with a little cast on his arm getting into the pool.  Gotta love how he is losing his pants!!!  This is a 6X6 page that I am working on in a mini album. I am putting it together with my bind it all so you can add parts to your layout that are not quite attached but pop out of nowhere!
The paper is from Echo Park Splash collection.  The stamps from CTMH.
I cut out the shaped piece with a  Tim Holtz Sizzix die cut.

Now, for the colors!  This week was my choice.
And your inspiration photo.  Don't you just want to jump into this picture? I do!! Make's me want to make a trip to the Coast.  However this water looks much warmer than our Oregon Coast.
My husband and I recently made a trip to the Oregon Coast.  We had fabulous weather.   I am going to add an inspiration photo from our trip.
There were so many starfish on the beach here. I don't think I have ever seen so many at one time.

When I loaded my pics onto the computer I realized I had a spot on the center of the lens. Uggh! That is so annoying!!  We also hiked a very short hike at Cape Perpetua.  Just gorgeous.  I thought I would share a pic of my hubby sitting on a stump.  It is just a little stump!!
Thanks for bearing with me while I shared some photo's!!!  Don't forget to head over to the Outlawz and check out this weeks Color Challenge.  We have fabulous sponsors!!!

Color Challenge August 9th

Just a reminder that it is Tuesday again and time for another Color Challenge at the Outlawz

I picked out this weeks colors. I hope you like them.

And the inspiration picture:

Artistic August: Use transparent embellishment

I used my R-89 and a little copic blender solution to color my seam binding and then heat set it to get the color of my cherry red card stock. I used a stamp from CTMH that includes both the sentiment stamp and butterfly. I stamped the butterfly with Stazon on some plastic packaging and cut it out and pop dotted it. Hint: don't throw away that heavy plastic packaging, it is perfect for stazon.  I sewed the 16 paper squares on like a quilt for the Our Daily Bread Challenge that is Notions/Seamstress.  That was a challenge!!

Don't forget our sponsor this month is  Di's Digi Downloads.
Check out the main page to see all the fabulous sponsors.

I am going to add this to the challenges at:
Cupcake Craft Challenges is sewing.
Paper Creations ink has stitching.
Pink Elephant Challenge is use at least 1 butterfly.
Pollycraft challenge is to recycle. I recycled some plastic packaging for the butterfly.
Card Cupids Blog has ribbon and buttons.
One stop Craft Challenge has make your sentiment the main part of your project.

Lift an Odd Girl Challenge

Have you checked out the new challenge over at Some Odd Girl?  The challenge is to lift an odd girl.  So I spent some time roaming through the odd girl design team blogs.  I say that like I have never done that before, right?!! LOL, of course I have. I seriously love these stamps. They are some of the funnest images to color.  When I stumbled upon the card at Zarah's and in english blog I knew it was the one I wanted to lift.  You can find her card here.  I hope you can see the lift. :)  I used the new clear stamp Sweet Thinkin Mae.  She is from the new releases. You knew I had to have her!!

I pulled out some of my favorite papers from My Mind's Eye and decided to paper piece her dress and bow.  I added some flowers and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, some dragon fly buttons and fancy pants pins.

The little charm is from my stash from when I used to sell CTMH.

Mae has been popped up.  I used E-000,01,11,13 for her skin and my favorite pinks R-89,85,83 for her shoes and shrug.  Her eyes are YG-83 and 85.  I distressed the edges and added some ink with CTMH creme brulee ink.   We wouldn't be done til I showed you the inside of my card.

I am going to add this to the challenge at Moving Along with the times that wants us to use our favorite things. They are Some Odd Girl, My Mind's Eye papers, copics, and wild orchid craft flowers.
Lollipop Crafts has anything goes.
Sparkles forum challenge has lace and elegance.
Totally Papercrafts has girly girls for the challenge.
Do you stack up is stitching.
Little Darlings Challenges is buttons, brads or eyelets. I used buttons.

Stars and Stripes

Do you ever have something in mind for a challenge and then when that doesn't work out you just lose your mojo?  I had the perfect paper picked out for today's challenge over at Guylou's Inimitability.  After I colored up my image I could not get that paper to work for it.  I pulled out some My Mind's Eye paper and a sentiment from CTMH and made it work.  I love this image called Leah at the beach.  If you can't tell I love Leah.  Now you are probably wanting to know where my stripes are aren't you?  Well, I decided since it just wasn't working out that the stripes were on the towel.  Or the waves.  Or perhaps the beach ball or umbrella.  You pick! :)

The star paper is from My Mind's Eye, but the waves are from Echo Park.  I think this was the first time I used these blues.  B-23,26,28 and Y-11,13,15. Reds used were R-21,22,24,27.  I decided to cut my image out and pop dot it.

I don't know about you but as we Celebrate this weekend I am thankful for a lot.  Happy Canada Day to all my friends and family in Canada.  And Happy 4th to all my friends and family here in the United States.

Now, I hope you will join us in the challenge.  And I hope you can find the perfect paper for your stars and stripes project!!  You should check out the other design team creations to see what fabulous projects they have come up with.  Now the challenge is open until July 14th at 10PM EST.
