Some more yummy candy

Claudia has more more yummy candy on her blog.  You should head on over and while you are there check out her gorgeous creations!!

All good things must come to an end!

That is what they say isn't it?  I can't believe that my time as Guest Design Team member over at All That Scraps is over.  What it also means is that we are already two months into this new year.  Tomorrow will be March already.  OK, did you hear that, March, it is time to quit snowing already and start warming up!!  We don't get much snow in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. We have had our share of icy roads this year, that is for sure!  Oh wait, I got off the subject.  I was going to show you my last two cards for the All That Scraps Blog.  I really had fun with the new releases and this first card showcases the Swiss Pixie Bouquet Basket stamp.  I used some gorgeous My Minds Eye paper, imagine that!  I just loved these colors and thought I would make my basket green instead of your usual brown.
I used the Tags it Rubber stamp and die set to create the Celebrate tag.  I added some Recollections roses from Michaels.  Now it wasn't my intention to cut out this basket by hand. Have you ever had a copic drop a huge drop of ink on something you colored?  I was almost done with this image, my very last flower and I got a huge glob of purple ink on it. I had no choice but to cut it out.  Or scrap it!! Well that wasn't going to happen!!  I also used glossy accents on the flowers.
The second card that I made for you uses one of my favorite stamps.  This Swiss Pixie Nurse Nora is available in either Rubber of Digital format.  I have her in the rubber format.  I really love to ink them up.
I used some Martha Stewart glitter on her wings.  Isn't that paper the cutest?  It is from My Mind's Eye. Imagine that!!  I always gravitate to their paper because it is thick and textured and I love that!  I used the AmyR Get Well Sentiments set for the sentiment on this card.  I am pretty sure there is a fabulous sentiment set for anything you want by AmyR!!  Love them!  I find myself gravitating to them all the time!!
Did I mention I got my new toy on Friday?  I did it, I bought the Grand Calibur and OH MY GOODNESS, I love it!!!!   You can put several dies in the machine at once.  This card was cut using a Grand Spellbinder Label 1.  The card is 5.5 inches.
As always, I love having you stop by, wish we could share a cup of coffee or tea and chat!!

A Day For Daisies

So I know this card looks very much like the one I posted this weekend.  Do you see what the differences are?  First of all, I adore this image.  But second of all I needed to make a card for one of my docs whose last day with us is tomorrow.  She is from India and she is preggo with her first child.  She has always been appreciative of the cards I have made her in the past and I wanted to make her a special one for her going away card.
The thing is, I have never colored Indian skin before.  This is my first attempt.  What do you think?  I used
E-11, 15, and 17 on the mother and E-11, 13, and 15 on the baby.
On her outfit I used BG-32, 34 and G-00.  The baby's blanket is G-21,24,28.  Her hair is E-29,27, and
E-13.

I added a Wild Orchid Crafts cherry blossom to the gold sheer ribbon.  The bling is Prima.
Can you guess who makes the paper?  My Mind's Eye of course.  Actually last time I was at the Craft Warehouse the paper was 40% off, and some of the MME was 50% off.  I love a good sale.  The sentiment on the inside I think is so fitting for someone starting a new phase of their life.
It is a sentiment by AmyR.  One of my favorites, it is her Get well sentiments.  I just love these and so many more of hers!!  My Grand Calibur is due to arrive on Friday, the snow has slowed it down.  I ran this Grand nestie through the cuttlebug.  It is one of the smallest of the set.  It comes in at about 5.5 inches.  I can't wait to cut with the biggest in the set!!  I am loving these shaped cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  It is so much appreciated.

Anita Be Stampin Challenge #9

It's Tuesday and time for another Anita Be Stampin Challenge. This week we are working on a sketch from Anita.  I had so much fun with these images this week.  I chose to play with Rosie Shops.  Those who know me, know I love to shop.  But I don't shop for clothes or shoes as much as I do for stamping, crafting supplies any more!!!  My husband would say I am a collector, or perhaps a hoarder of crafting supplies. I just had a visual of one of those Hoarders shows, but I am stuck in my craft room surrounded by paper!  And flowers, and stamps, and charms, etc. You get the picture!!  I am sure if you are reading this you know what I am talking about!! LOL.
Check out this awesome sketch!!!  I can't believe how fun it is to use a good sketch. I am used to sitting down and trying to design my own, it can go so fast with a good sketch!!!!  Instead of using ovals on my card I decided to use the Spellbinders Label #14.  And I used some of my all time favorite paper!!  I just love this paper from DCWV.  I found this paper in the little 4X6 paper pack and quickly used it all up.  I searched all my local stores, and believe me none of them are local. I have to go 25 miles to my closest Michaels, and 40 miles to the Craft Warehouse and there are no LSS here!  When I did hit those stores they didn't have it in stock.  I was whining (yes, whining) to my girls over on Scrapbook.com and my girl Gina found it at her LSS and sent it to me!!  Now that is a lot of work to get the perfect paper!!!  But I got to use it on my card today!!
Now, isn't that the perfect paper for today's image?  Love it!!  All the paper is from this same pack All About Girls.
I inked all the edges with Smokey Plum ink by CTMH.  A sheer silver ribbon and shoe charm finish off the card.
I stamped one of the shoes from the set and added glossy accents for a little extra on the inside.
Today I have 2 posts for you, I hope you can check out my other card for my Outlawz post today as well.  As always thanks for stopping by, I love to have you visit!!!

Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge

Wow, what a party we are having over at the Outlawz.  And the party is not over.  There is still some time to get your entries in.  Just not to our color challenge. That ended last night.  We had some awesome entries last week. Thanks to all of you that played along!!  Can't wait to see who wins all the prizes.  This week the challenge is a tough one!!  At least I think so!!!  Here is your color challenge inspiration picture!
Lime, charcoal, and white.  The twist is to add some bling.  Now I am on the design team and even I overlook the rules sometimes!!  I made my card, posted it to prepare for this week and realized I forgot the bling.  I added pearls for my bling.  I hope that counts as bling!!  I did a CAS card.  Clean and Simple!!  We have had people make comments that they didn't want to join the challenge cuz they didn't know how to color.  That would be a different challenge, LOL.  Ours is a Color Challenge in using color
 as our inspiration.
I usually try to start out with paper, then go forward.  I found this paper, again from My Mind's Eye. You would think I had stock in the company as much as I have used it and mentioned it lately!!!
Then I used a stamp on charcoal colored cardstock.  I dug out my Zig Chalk Writers to make it pop a little, added my silver/grey ribbon and my pearls.
What do you think? Can you come up with an entry for Tuesday's Color Challenge? I bet you can, and I would love to see your take on this weeks challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I appreciate every single comment I get!

Feb 21st Guest Design Team for All That Scraps

I can not believe how fast time has flown.  I have enjoyed every minute of my time being the Guest Designer for All That Scraps.  I only have 1 week left!!  The cards I have to share today were so much fun to make. I went a little outside the box for my first card today. I used Spring Brigitta Bouquet on this flip flop card.  I saw this type of card in the March edition of Card Maker, but I bet if you google flip-flop card you can find the directions. Let me know if you can't and I will post them here.
I used different My Mind's Eye papers on here.  I also used the Tags it Rubber stamp and die set to cut out the flowers.  I used AmyR Get Well Sentiments on the inside.
You know these sentiments from AmyR have so much more than get well sentiments. This may just turn out to be one of my favorite sentiment sets ever.  Check out the shot from above.
OK, now this second card was also so fun to make. I used the Spring Kiki LaRue.  You know how much I love Kiki!!!  I used her twice! I love the look of featuring her on the inside of a card, just in a monochromatic ink.  I also used another sentiment from the AmyR Get Well Sentiments.  I used a Spellbinders Label 8  to cut out my card.  Again some fabulous My Mind's Eye paper for this one. The 2 sheets of paper I used are actually one.  The layer is the opposite side of the cardstock. One of the things I love about My Mind's Eye is that their paper is thicker and textured. Love it! It looks so rich on this card.
I used my Copic Color Chart to find the BG's in the paper to choose the colors for her dress and headband.  Here is the inside of the card.
And a close up of the sentiment.
And another shot of the front of the card. I used a bigger wild rose from Wild Orchid Crafts. And a Gold sheer ribbon bow tops it off.   This card just really showcases that great image and that fabulous paper.
This card is going to go out in the mail today to a sweet blogging fried that just lost her mother.  Sympathy cards are not easy to make and sentiments are not easy to find. I think this one is perfect.
If you have time, head on over to the All That Scraps Blog and Challenges.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  So sad that next Monday will be my last as GTD.  I have had a blast!!
