Adore

I love making cards just to make cards!!  I am sure I will find some challenges to enter this into but it was just fun to make!!   No coloring, just sewing, die cutting and some amazing paper.
This amazing paper is from K&Co.  I just loved the black and white with butterflies and decided to add a die cut from Tim Holtz with a background of kraft paper.  I inked the edges with CTMH creme brulee ink. I added some of that gorgeous white lace from Wild Orchid Crafts and some sheer gold scrunched ribbon on top.
I then added a little metal tag that says adore, a charm and some pearls to finish it off.
Don't forget to enter my blog candy.   I will be picking a winner soon.

I am going to add this to these challenges:
Crafty Sentiments Designs has punches and die cuts. I used a Tim Holtz butterfly die.
Delightful Challenges has things with wings.
Pals Paper Arts has a recipe challenge: 1 DP, 1 punch and 1 sentiment.
Southern Girl's has black and white with a pop of color.
Flutter By Wednesdays  of course has a butterfly, angel, fairy on it.
The Paper Shelter has stitching. I have mine on the ribbon.

As always, thanks for stopping by my blog. I love visitors!!

Color Challenge August 9th

Just a reminder that it is Tuesday again and time for another Color Challenge at the Outlawz

I picked out this weeks colors. I hope you like them.

And the inspiration picture:

Artistic August: Use transparent embellishment

I used my R-89 and a little copic blender solution to color my seam binding and then heat set it to get the color of my cherry red card stock. I used a stamp from CTMH that includes both the sentiment stamp and butterfly. I stamped the butterfly with Stazon on some plastic packaging and cut it out and pop dotted it. Hint: don't throw away that heavy plastic packaging, it is perfect for stazon.  I sewed the 16 paper squares on like a quilt for the Our Daily Bread Challenge that is Notions/Seamstress.  That was a challenge!!

Happy Birthday

August is a month of birthdays in our family.  It is also the first birthday of Marci and Luka over at La-La Land Crafts.  They are having a birthday themed card contest.  I used Pirate Luka for my birthday card.

So this past week my husband and I went camping.  I found out while at work Wednesday that my husband was going to have Saturday off so we took off camping as soon as I got off of work.  I was throwing all my craft supplies in a bag so I could play while my hubby was out fishing.  Well don't you know I would forget something super important?  I forgot my Neenah paper!!!  Oh and not to mention an acrylic block!! I used the back of some packaging to put my stamp onto and used the back side of some cardstock to stamp onto.  Oh my, I love my Neenah!!  the cardstock bled and just didn't blend like my Neenah!  I think I need to put a supply in the trailer!  Anyways, I was able to make this card for the Birthday Challenge over at La-La Land Crafts.  I purposely used different face colors then I have used before so that I could enter into the iCopic challenge that is to use skin tones that are out of my comfort zone.  I used E-51, R-02, E-01,E-11,E-13,E-95.  *Well dang it, I missed the deadline!*
I had a lot of fun coloring this little guy up.  Even without my Neenah paper!!

I used a mixture of Cosmo Cricket Paper and My Mind's Eye.  I distressed the paper with my scissors.  That was just one more thing I forgot at home, my distressor!   The metal plate is by Tim Holtz.  Don't you just love it?  And a peak at the inside of course!!

So, do you have a Facebook?  All I need is for you to go on over to La-La Lands blog and "Like" my card.  The card with the most votes wins a 36 piece Copics.  Wow!!  OK, now you are on your way over to enter aren't you?  I can't blame you!!!!

I am also going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Birthday Sundaes has of course birthday card!
Dream Valley Challenges has distressing as it's challenge.
Craft Your Days Away has a birthday theme.
Card Makin Mamas challenge is birthdays.
Just Add Ink has tearing and distressing.

Celebrate the Occasion has kids birthday.

Thankful For All You Do

The challenge over at Some Odd Girl this week (and next) is a Thank You challenge.  I decided to use a ticket stamp that I have from Whimsy called Ticket Sentiments.  I pulled out some of my favorite My Mind's Eye papers and my new favorite clear stamp Sweet Thinkin Mae.  I wanted to give the card some 3-D effect so I paper pieced and added pop dots cut really tiny to her hair, bow, dress, and shoes.
I have been playing with my sewing machine and ribbon lately.  I love this turquoise polka dotted ribbon, all rouched up with a sheer polka dot ribbon on top.  Next I added some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, a little purple clip and there you go!
I used my favorite copic skin colors~E-000, 01, 11, 13, and E-93.  For her hair I used E-21, 23, 3=25, 27, and 29.  I added some RV-63 and 66 to her dress and bow just to give a little highlight. And her eyes are YG-93 and 95 cuz my eyes are green. :) I also added some glossy accents to them.
This was such a fun card to do.  I don't know about you but card making is my therapy!!  I really appreciate you stopping by.

OK, now let's see what challenges I can add my card to.

Artistic August: Add frame or slide mount

Makes you think limeaid, lemonade, margarita-aid.  I took the colors literally and found this gorgeous paper from DCWV in the Citrus Stack.  Love it, such fun gorgeous colors.

Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge

This week I was able to add a card to the challenge over at the Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge.

This week's challenge:  Oh Ballooney ~ Must Have a Balloon

Awhile back when I was camping I colored up some images with my Prismas, one of them was Balloon Kaylee.  So, as you know I love coloring with my copics but it is almost impossible to take them in the trailer when we camp.  My solution was to learn to color with Prismacolor pencils. They close up in a tin and I just have to take along my odorless mineral spirits and go.  I definitely am still learning but am
having a blast with the process.

The other thing I like to do when camping is take a little 6X6 paper pad and some A-2 cards to throw them together.  And when I get home throw on the extras and go.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from LOTV.
