Welcome Fall with The Cutting Cafe

This week we are showcasing the Welcome Fall set over at the Cutting Cafe.  What a fabulous set with images and sentiments.  Are you feeling the crispness in the air in the mornings?  We are, our crispness usually involves sogginess and fogginess here in Oregon.  The design team outdid themselves with this fabulous set.  You will want to hop over to the blog to check out the amazing designs of my teammies.

I used some kraft paper, seam binding ribbon, brads and orange button to top it off.  I love using my sewing machine to finish it off.

Happy Fall!!!  You should check out the newest Case it Tuesday at the Cafe Challenge

Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge ~ Sept 27th

It is time for another Tuesday Color Challenge over at The Outlawz.  The colors this week are so much fun!!! I got my new stamps for Christmas from Some Odd Girl this week and just couldn't wait to ink them up.  So I decided to use the colors from our challenge this week and the inspiration photo for the Some Odd Girl Challenge and combine them.  This is what I came up with.

The colors for this weeks challenge are gorgeous!!!

The Spectacular September twist was to add something crocheted.  My flower was a little too light pink so I added some RV 17 and some colorless blender in a plastic baggie and smushed the flower into the color.

I am going to share 2 inspiration photo's. This first photo is from The Outlawz and is our color inspiration for this challenge.

The next photo is from the Some Odd Girl Challenge.

My inspiration was the wreath shape.  I used the packages from Gifty Gwen and the ornaments from Tree Trimming Kaylee to make my wreath.  The wreath didn't quite turn out like I wanted it to but oh well.  Let's see some more pics.  :)  Here is the front of the card.  I used my air compressor and some BG-13 around the image.  IRL the blue is so much blue-er!

I used a Martha Stewart branch punch to put behind my package/ornament wreath.   The papers are from a last years My Minds Eye line.

Ooh, and don't you love that little Melissa Frances frame?  That was a birthday gift from my friend Dana.  The sentiment is part of the stamp set Gifty Gwen.

Don't forget to come on over to the Outlawz for the 1000 member party next week.  There is so much planned.   And lots of prizes!!!

I am going to enter my card into the following challenges.

Hooked on Craft challenge is use ribbon and lace.

Happy Birthday~Stitching with Some Odd Girl

Finally I got some time today to put a few cards together.  This past week I had strep throat and spent a little time on my couch.  I HATE being sick.  I wanted to craft, but just didn't feel up to it and I had so many projects due or just wanted to do.  So I brought a bunch of markers down and colored while watching HGTV. :)  Today I finally got a little time to put something together.  I missed the last challenge at Some Odd Girl and I am down to the wire on this one.  The challenge is to do some stitching on your project.  I love to stitch on my cards so I really wanted to do this one!  I used Balloon Kaylee for my card.
I am in love with this paper by My Mind's Eye. It is from the Lost collection. I loved that little vintage sewing machine on this paper and since the challenge is stitching I thought it was the perfect paper!!!

I am going to add this to the following challenges as well:
Addicted to Stamps has stitching as its challenge this week.
Card Cupids has anything goes.
Stamptactular Sunday Challenge has just saying for this weeks challenge.
2Sisters Challenge has sentimental for the challenge.

Thank you ~ You're a Star Challenge

It is time for another challenge over at Guylou's inimitability.   Our Challenge for the next two weeks is to make a thank you card with a twist.  The twist is there must be a star on it somewhere.  Whether it be an embellishment, a stamp, a digistamp, or the paper that you use we are looking for a star somewhere on your project.  For my card I used Breakfast.
This image reminded me of the red and white enamelware that you can still find at antique stores.  The paper is from DCWV kitchen stack.  It reminded me of a shabby chic table cloth.
The star that I used is a button on the sheer ribbon bow and the Thanks sentiment that I got from the Cutting Cafe.   It is from the same file I used earlier this week called With Gratitude.  I cut it out with a small circle nestie and threaded some brown twine through it.  And of course the copics I used for this project:
Now don't forget to check out the other design team inspirations over on the Challenge Blog.  I hope you can find some time to join with us on this challenge. We always have so much to be thankful for!!

You have until 10:00pm on September 29th to link your project to the InLinkz at the end of this post. Please make sure your project matches the requirements before you link it.

With Gratitude

This time of year when we start feeling fall in the air I start thinking about Thanksgiving and the Holiday season.  I got to play with the new set over at The Cutting Cafe called With Gratitude.  This is such a fabulous set with a background stamp, dots and stripes, scallops, and lots of sentiment stamps.  For my card I used the background stamp and on the inside one of the sentiments.

I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz walnut ink. I must get some more of these!!  My base is black with some vellum paper layered with the background paper.

I can see so much possibility with this fabulous set.  While you are over at the Cafe checking it out, check out the new Tuesday challenge.  It is called Case it Tuesdays with the Cafe.  Sounds like fun!!

I am going to add this to I brake for Challenges~the challenge is backgrounds.
Papercraft Star has anything goes.

My First Cutting Cafe Post

Finally I am able to share with you the projects I made for my first post with the Cutting Cafe Design Team.  I am so excited to get to play with all of Regina's files.  For our first post we got to browse through the store and choose something for Anything Goes.  Some of you guessed correctly what I would choose for my first post.  Yes, of course something coffee themed!!!  I used the Coffee Cup Shaped Card and the Got Coffee digital stamp set to make a coffee gift card for a friend.
Of course I used some of my fabulous ribbon that I found on Ebay.  I inked all the edges and colored in the heart with my copics.
I sewed a little pocket for the inside just big enough to add a Starbucks card.
Now, those of you that know me, know that I also like tea so I decided to also play with the Tea Bag Holder.
You know I just love fancy fold cards and holders.
I used the Tea Time Set for the sentiment.  I had to play with my sewing machine to give it a little more texture. I just love the inside.
I thought the little tag reminded me of the tag on a tea bag.
And another picture for good measure!!
Now, isn't that the cutest thing?  Now all you need to do is head on over to the Cutting Cafe's Blog and leave a comment for a chance to win 3 sets from the Cafe!!  And make sure you check back for the current Challenge.

Tuesday Color Challenge at the Outlaws Sept 6th

Hello, did you all have a fabulous Labor Day Weekend?  Gene and I headed out camping this weekend.  We actually left Thursday.  We were lucky enough to find a camping spot that someone had canceled for the weekend.  Or so we thought!!  We ended up sharing our camping spot with the group behind us and beside us, so lots of traffic back and forth and through our spot.  Normally I wouldn't care because when my family goes camping there are lots of us!!!  But this time it was only Gene and I.  We decided to only stay Thurs and Fri night and head back Saturday.  Saturday and Sunday I primed my family room walls so they are ready for some paint.  OK, what has all this to do with todays challenge?  Well, I forgot to take my color inspiration so I texted Guylou for the colors and she sent me the color inspiration picture.  I totally mistook what the color fog was. I was thinking a light brown color, nope grey!!  Anywhoooo, here is my card!!
Thank goodness there is some grey in there!!  I used this fun image from Phindy's Place.
This image is called Lot's of Luck to you.  Phindy's Place is sponsoring our color challenge for the month of September. The winner will get a $15 gift cert to her store. Now, wanna see the inspiration photo?
The photo is the one I got on my phone.  It matches I think!!!  You will want to be checking out the Outlawz. We are working on a party!!!!  Plus there are so many fabulous sponsors this month.  You will want to check it out!!!!

Back to School Challenge

It is that time of the year again. The children are getting ready to go back to school (if they are not already) and we are happy to have a Back to School challenge at Guylou's Inimitability. Guylou is our host this time around. She is challenging you to make a project with a school theme and make sure there is an apple somewhere on your project.  Ok, I can not believe that I do not have an apple in my scraproom that looks like a store, so I used an image that has an apple on it!! I used Teacher Leah.   Make sure that you check her out in the store because I cut out the image with a circle cutter and the image is much larger than I show!  I am happy to say that I am not sending anyone back to school at this time!!!

I love this sentiment stamp from Tim Holtz and thought that it went well with the kiddo's and teens and of course some adults heading back to school.  I inked everything with Tim Holtz distress ink in Walnut including the seam ribbon.

Make sure you head over and see the fabulous creations by the design team.  And don't forget that Guylou is having a 50% off sale this weekend in honor of our Labor Day.

Prize

A random winner will be selected from all the qualifying entries. Please make sure you follow our Challenge Guidelines listed on the left. The winner will be awarded a $5 gift certificate from Guylou's Inimitability Store and will also be invited to be a Guest Designer on an upcoming challenge.
